We found Cafe Gibraltar on line when looking for vegan restaurants around Half Moon Bay. We called for a reservation the same day and were told the only tables available were in booths which would require us to sit on the floor. That's a stretch for people our age, but we made the reservation anyway and are certainly glad we... More

Even though 100 miles away from home we have dined here We do the 200 mile round trip at least twice a year... And it's worth every mile! Fresh and imaginative and friendly... Great octopus... Superb salad...Superb soup...a luscious lamb dish. Service this time was 9.5 vs the perfect 10 BUT to be honest they got very busy very quickly... More

The best in local organic foods, grass-fed beef, goat cheese, fixed with a Middle-Eastern flair, down to the to-die-for desserts. Not a wine drinker but their selection fits the foods. Don't take your date here unless you're really serious, this is a very romantic long dinner kind of place

Café Gibraltar has been at this location for the past 8 years. It is a delightful respite from the many mediocre seafood restaurants running along Hwy 1 coming up from Half Moon Bay. The soft draped ceiling curtains evoke a Moroccan theme with tables adorned with beige tablecloths and small orchids. There are a few booths lined along the back... More

Cafe Gibraltar is a quaint upscale restaurant with Mediterranean flair cuisine. The food is outstanding, the service impeccable, and the ambiance brings you to Europe. Although the prices are steep, it is equivalent to the type of food and service you receive when dining here.

This place is a real gem. Fantastic food with large portions for the money. The menu is full of wonderful dishes that are not the common ones you may find. The lamb just melted in your mouth. The tuna appetizer was enough to serve 3 and was delicately seasoned with ginger. Try the flourless chocolate cake; it's to die for!... More

We were spending my wife's birthday down in Half Moon Bay -- she discovered a very favorable review in Zagat's about Cafe Gibraltar, so we tried it. What a find! Hard to believe such a lovely place, with such great dishes, is tucked away in El Granada. However, it is wonderful. For starters, you can see the ocean from inside!... More

Jose Luis cooks fresh sea bass wrapped in parchment paper, steak that just melts away in your mouth, and the most succulent lamb. All local foods! Veggies are often from his own garden out back. This chef is absolutely one of the best! You can choose to sit at a low table on some cushy pillows( put some extras behind... More

If you read the reviews, you'd be lead to believe that this is a real dining experience. I found this over-priced place anything but that. Located in what must have been a cheesy diner and decorated in a Cost Plus Moroccan-style, there is little parking. The wine list (by the class) is mediocre. I was brought a different wine than... The menu is always changing. The food is uniquely created. You won't find a similar taste in any other restaurant. A terrific place to have a special meal or evening.
