This place is an Imperial Valley legend! Do not expect first class dining but go with an open mind and look forward to excellent food and have with fun with Rosie and her husband Tommy (owners). This restaurant and it's recipes are family favorites. Be sure to try a special quesadilla as they can only be found in the Imperial... More

We looked at reviews and decided to try something different. The place is certainly different from the norm. The restaurant's location is out in the fields...the ambiance of the place was cafe old school style. Mismatched chairs that had seen better days. Tables are sticky from years of grease. The ceilings are full of dust and cobwebs. The dust balls... More

Good food. Large portions. Way out of town. Sometimes surly service. Querky , but quaint. Draft beer by the pitcher, if you want it that way.

We read about Camacho's a number of years ago, and have wanted to visit the place ourselves. It is neither elegant nor modern. It is full of positive atmosphere. One needs to know how to reach the place, and once there, appreciate the fact that it's been there since 1946. Food (IMHO) was served hot, by a pleasant wait person.... More

We have never been disappointed with the food at Camacho's Place and went back twice while we were in El Centro this year. This is not the fanciest restaurant you have ever been into nor is it the most polished. It is a family owned and operated Mexican restaurant located in the middle of nowhere. The food is great --... This place has been a Staple for Both Movie Stars, and the working Farmers, Law Enforcement and seasonal Dove Hunters. Good Ole Fashion Home Made Food. If your looking for Glitz and Glamour this is not it. But Down Home Cooking in a Homey Kitchen Setting, then this is the perfect place.

Camacho's Place was okay--there were cool pictures on the walls of the Blue Devils-who supposedly frequent the place-and it may the restaurant from Top Gun. But, food was just so-so. I ordered the beef tamales(hard to find gluten free options here). There was very little beef and lots of corn meal. It came with a small bowl of beans and... More

Ate here once on recent visit.. This is a landmark restaurant but I remember it being better than it was ... Probably would eat at Celia's over this place now. Service was fast but not overly friendly. Beef tacos were ok but not fabulous!

I have eaten Mexican food 2-3 times a week through out the country and Mexico for the last 20 years. This is undoubtedly the worst food I ever been given. The enchiladas are doused in this peculiar sweetish chile sauce that is a cross between ketchup and cheap breakfast syrup. The corn tortilla can only be described as play dough... More
