Authentic Mexican Cafe

Some people have a hard time finding this restaurant. If you find yourself in that position, stop most anyone on the street, and you will get directions that will take you right to their door! The food here is good all around. And is as authentic as it gets. The special quesadilla's are amazing, you won't be disappointed. The mexican fried ice-cream is a great finish to the meal, and a must have. The staff is very friendly and the service is prompt. Camacho's is a short drive out of town, but definitely worth it.

I was in El Centro for business and asked two different people where I should eat. Both said Camacho's Place and as it turns out...for obvious reasons. The food was wonderful and the service ultra friendly and accommodating. Rosie treated me like I'd lived there my whole life and Tommy told a story about how he painted his first car... More

I first ate at Camachos in 1967, the last time I ate there was 1977. We stopped by today the place and the food is just like it was in 1967. The have a 1946 refrigerator full of cold soda and beer. The special deep fried quesadillas are fabulous. The chips and salsa are great. We had chili verde and... More

This place is an Imperial Valley legend! Do not expect first class dining but go with an open mind and look forward to excellent food and have with fun with Rosie and her husband Tommy (owners). This restaurant and it's recipes are family favorites. Be sure to try a special quesadilla as they can only be found in the Imperial... More

We looked at reviews and decided to try something different. The place is certainly different from the norm. The restaurant's location is out in the fields...the ambiance of the place was cafe old school style. Mismatched chairs that had seen better days. Tables are sticky from years of grease. The ceilings are full of dust and cobwebs. The dust balls... More

Good food. Large portions. Way out of town. Sometimes surly service. Querky , but quaint. Draft beer by the pitcher, if you want it that way.

We read about Camacho's a number of years ago, and have wanted to visit the place ourselves. It is neither elegant nor modern. It is full of positive atmosphere. One needs to know how to reach the place, and once there, appreciate the fact that it's been there since 1946. Food (IMHO) was served hot, by a pleasant wait person.... More

We have never been disappointed with the food at Camacho's Place and went back twice while we were in El Centro this year. This is not the fanciest restaurant you have ever been into nor is it the most polished. It is a family owned and operated Mexican restaurant located in the middle of nowhere. The food is great --... This place has been a Staple for Both Movie Stars, and the working Farmers, Law Enforcement and seasonal Dove Hunters. Good Ole Fashion Home Made Food. If your looking for Glitz and Glamour this is not it. But Down Home Cooking in a Homey Kitchen Setting, then this is the perfect place.
