Excellent Salads and Sandwiches

The servings are large and the food is very nutritious. Lots of salads, soups, and main courses to choose from. The salads have vegetables in them, not just greens.

We went for dinner and it was difficult to decide what we wanted. The portions are good sized, too. Food was good but service was a bit slow. I am giving it only 3 stars because there are two rooms, one where you order, where there are tables, and another room of tables. The room (the one with seating area... More

I have been to this restaurant several different times and every time, I have a great meal. You order from a huge menu on the wall and then help yourself to a mixture of different coffees, then take a seat. They bring your meal to you. Just a relaxing place and I keep going back and back.

This is our after church breakfast place. All ingredients are fresh, and they have great food. We have had lunch there on occasion, and the food was good as well. The dinner menu wasn't as large, but the food was tasty as well.

The El Cajon Bistro is relatively new and its in an area that really does not have many restaurant options..but this is a fantastic find. No alcohol yet (but you can bring your own), however breakfast, lunch and dinner are the best in the area. The specials are "to die for" and again, the portions are gigantic. When in East... More

Coming from a big city, I wasn't expecting much from a local place in terms of local brunch options - but next time I'm in El Cajon, I will be back!

I have been looking for a local restaurant like this for years. While I've been to cozy, warm charactered restaurants in places like Boulder, Flagstaff and Tucson, San Diego's versions have always suffered from lack of imagination and quality. So far I've enjoyed three breakfasts. All were creative and delicious. The service was friendly and engaging. The food was flavorful... More

This is a great little bistro that can go unnoticed. The people who work here are friendly and helpful. The food is fresh and healthy. They have so many tasty things on the menu, take some time to check it out before you order. Along with the daily specials. I can say I have never had anything I haven't liked.... More

Service was a little slow, food was good nothing to write home to Mom about. I liked the old place that was here a lot more, Joe's Cafe. Owners were much more friendly. For what they have here the prices were ok, but the taste didnt hit a homerun with me. Yes I would eat here again if i was... More

I thought I would try this place for breakfast/lunch with a friend and we were not disappointed! The food is fresh and the selection is huge. They have a large every-day menu and a specials board each day. The staff is friendly and helpful. They have a coffee bar where you fill your onw coffee cup with a selection of... More
