good food

Stayed at the hotel next door. Their free breakfast was great for a diner. We had dinner night before and it was great for a diner. Good value.

Open 24 hours. Food is satisfying. 50's diner décor. Located just off highway 5 with easy access. The spot to go for really late night dining.

Loved the look of this place--so shiny and cute. It's a 50's diner place. Not haute cuisine, it's diner food. The menu is pretty much breakfast, hamburgers, and TV-dinner type entrees. YUM. Would go back!

I stayed for few days at next door hotel and the breakfast was included and on the beginning I was not expecting much from the breakfast normal. In America the hotel offers are not very impressive but this one was quite good and I always ate a omelette and was great and quite filling, good for me to ski all... More

I had dinner and breakfast at Penny's recently while staying at the motel next door. Dinner was nothing special, just a bowl of chili. Breakfast was included in the motel stay. It's prepared fresh while you're watching it cook on the griddle. The cook was also the waiter and cashier, and he was very friendly. Breakfast turned out to be... More

We enjoyed both dinner and breakfast at Penny's Diner on a recent stay at the Oak Tree Inn in Dunsmuir, California. Both meals were good diner food and the service was helpful and friendly. We would come again whenever we're in the area.

Very good especially their french dip with sauteed mushrooms, carmelized onions, tons of roast beef and choice of cheese...I always get pepper jack. With au jus it is the bomb! (especially if Rob is there!!!).

Stopped by after getting on road early and seeing sign for diner. There was one guy working there and he had a fairly grim look about him. We all ordered coffee and he made a fresh pot of the worst stuff I've ever tasted--a mix of petro smell and vinegar. You could not swallow it. It was somewhat funny watching... More

I arrived early for breakfast, and the only one working was the chef. He made me a breakfast burrito which was delicious, and large enough that I saved half of it for lunch!
