Good ol American Food - Open 24 Hours

We were heading north on Interstate 5 with plans to spend the night in Yreka. We realized restaurants would be closed by the time we got there, so we started looking on tripadvisor for a restaurant that was still open after 9:00 p.m., and had good reviews. The exterior looked well kept, the... read more

Bacon had the taste and texture of poster board. Hash Browns were soggy. Never again. Toast was close in taste and texture to the bacon. The over easy eggs were crispy?!?

I live here in town and have eaten here lots, usually the food is great. Ordered a burger with onion rings. When I got the food home I found no onion rings, but soggy greasy fries. The burger itself was so dry and burnt to charcoal I couldn't even finish it. How do you turn a burger to charcoal on... More

My wife and I found this small, out of the way diner about three years ago. The food was great, and the help was downright entertaining. We stopped in today for breakfast. What a terrible surprise. The cook was very grumpy and when we weren't ready to order, said he would come back. He never did come back, the dishwasher... More

We went in for breakfast and the food was very good but the server was over the top. The cook/waiter was a kick, and very funny. We enjoyed the entire experience.

Quaint, friendly 50's style diner with food made to order while you watch! They served a great breakfast. Their bacon, eggs, hash browns, and English muffin, beat Denny's Grand Slam hands down! I would love to go back because their Philly Cheese Steak Sandwich sounded awesome!

We wanted to go to a bakery or diner downtown but they were closed...so Penny's it was. Penny's Diner had standard breakfast choices. Our server was also the cook so he was very short with us when we ordered... I guess he had something cooking and had to get back to it. The food was ok... scrambled eggs with a... More

Delightful & off-the-path, but right next door to a fine motel, Penny's Diner can't be beat! The food is delicious and made with loving care, the environment is fun and cheerful, customer service is awesome. Classic vintage music is playing, and posters of old movies etc, are everywhere! Also - they are open 24 hours! A rare treat these days... More

Over easy eggs had raw clear stuff in them. Hash browns were greasy and stringy. Toast wasn't even warm and it came dry. Never could get the hard butter to soften up on it so left it. Bacon was too fatty. Maybe we hit it on a bad day because the cook was also waiting all the tables. Super cute... More
