Howdy

A big old howdy in the back country of San Diego. We stoped in for a early buffet breakfast here on a Sunday morning. Coffee , juice, eggs, bacon & much more. Enjoy the ride !

I loved the food. The barbecue is excellent, and prices are reasonable. They are a little bit slow at the register, when it comes time for you to pay and be on your way. I was only 6 people back, and I could swear it took 25 minutes.

A friend from Pio Pico suggested that we have lunch there as I headed back to Lake Morena. It appeared to be a bikers favorite, which usually means it's gr8. The place was like a museum inside, and we entered behind a couple into a gift shop, cafe/counter area. The couple was in front of us reading the menu at... More

Although both DULZURA CAFE and BARRETT JUNCTION CAFE served the same kind of old-fashioned American cuisine and both had been in business since the 1940's, we usually ate at Dulzura Cafe because it was closer. As it closed last year (the building is up for rent), today we continued a few miles further east on Highway 94 to BARRETT JUNCTION.... More

It's called the home of the Fish Fry. It is, and the hush puppies are delicious. The fried chicken is fresh, not frozen. It's like an antique store with great southern comfort cooking. Mmmmmm so good. Great place to bring the family and friends. It's worth the nice drive.

This place is a good bike rest in a long and windy road. The best I can say about it is that the beers are cold and the chairs don't rattle. The food? Just like stopping by Costco's deli...

Great service, Bill has been there for 22 years. Small diner feel. The BBQ ribs were amazing. Drinks were cheap. The ride up there is great on a motorcycle.

The food is ok. My hubby really likes the ribs but the place is GROSS. ALWAYS check you glasses and eating utensils BEFORE you use them. EVERY time we have gone (yes, more than once;-P) my glass has had lipstick on it or gunk in it. Yuck! The merchantile is the biggest rip off in history. DO NOT buy anything... More

The Barrett Junction Cafe is basically out in the middle of nowhere, however it is a great place to not only have a good meal, but to also enjoy the scenic ride there and back. It is 19 miles from the 94 intersection at Jamacha Rd (where the Edward's theaters are) and from there takes about 30 minutes to get... More

Barrett Junction is about 25 miles from San Diego and is a beautiful drive out Highway 94 to Dulzura, through golden pastures and rocky hillsides . Everything in the restaurant is like it was 40 years ago--the Alaskan cod is lightly breaded with tartar sauce or vinnegar on the side, the hush puppies are served with honey, and there are... More
