This place is awesome. For me, this is the best sushi place in Pleasanton. We were five in the group when we went here and ordered quite a number of different rolls to share with. I enjoyed every single bite!.... until the tab came. it was really expensive. our tab costs us almost $200 (including tip) for 5 guys with... More

The sushi is the best we've had in Dublin. The fish is fresh and the sashimi salad can only be recommended. Come early on weekends otherwise you'll have to wait. The wait is worth it though

I absolutely love Amakara! The Spicy Sesame Seared Tuna and Lemon Salmon are so good that I rarely manage to deviate to try new Amakara Originals. Always fresh, creative and enjoyable. The good news / bad news is that it is always crazy busy which means you have to be prepared to wait but seeing how busy it is you... More

We love this place. We have been coming here since they first opened and the quality of the food, especially the sushi has always been excellent and very fresh. We love to take people there who visit us from out of town. The only thing we wish they would do is take reservations for parties under 6. It it always... More

I love that place! Nothing beats Amakara if you want fresh sashimi and yummy sushi rolls. From all the sushi restaurants that I've been to Amakara has the most unique and delicious rolls. The grilled edamame is delicious! The place is always packed so be prepared to wait or try to get there a little before the lunch/ dinner rush.

Had heard - great food, rude staff, always busy, can't book, and expensive. Sounded like a good place to go. Tried to book - no, only if you are 6 people or more. OK, what's the wait time (7:00 pm on a Wednesday night), about 45 minutes, maybe. Does maybe mean more or less. Maybe means maybe. Rude staff; on... More

One of my favorites in the Tri-Valley area for Japanese cuisine with a modern/American twist. In addition to an eclectic menu of sushi, they offer items you won't typically see like grilled edamame, ribeye steak with arugula (my favorite but my daughter says it's too smokey-grilly), shrimp ceviche, a full bar, and TV's on sports channels. It can definitely get... More

Very popular and crowded restaurant in Dublin. About a 30 minute wait to get our table. We shared a mixed sushi appetizer, then I had the Seafood Tempura. It was all very good and a fun dining experience. David, our waiter was very knowledgeable about the menu, patient, and humorous with our table. Not a cheap restaurant, but you you... More

For starters we got grilled edamame (very good!) and grilled oysters (decent). But then... Saba Shioyaki (grilled mackerel) was very mediocre and no presentation at all - just a pile of dry rice and a piece of fish. Dragon roll was even worse! Again - rice was dry and all together no taste. If not for edamame I would rate... More

Amakara has always been my favorite restaurant, period, in the Bay Area since it opened. Though most people rave about the sushi, sashimi, edamame, etc., my favorite choices, in addition to the various sushi rolls, include the Sashimi Salad ( a must order every time), the Hamachi Kama, the grilled beef and eggplant (though slightly on the salty side), and...
