I was excited to try a new Japanese restaurant - this was just a mediocre meal - tried it one more time just to be sure.
Took the family here for teppanyaki. Our three kids had never had that before, and the two youngest got a bit scared by the huge flames, but the chef did a great job joking with them and making them comfortable. And the food was great, too. (Kids didn't love the chicken, but gobbled up the shrimp; my steak was cooked... More
I was staying at a near by hotel and they suggested I go here for dinner. I am glad they did! The staff was very friendly and fast and the food was outstanding. I had a roll that I had never had at another sushi place and I really enjoyed it. I will keep this on my radar when I... More
We have eaten at Yanagi on two occasions and have found the Sushi to be excellent and the service is very attentive. But the noise level is very high. Why the need to have loud background music is beyond me, It certainly does not add to the dining experience, in fact it is a major detraction.
We went to this restaurant the first time about a year ago. We like what they have to offer. The boat had a nice presentation. My family will go there about once a week and ordered the boat for up to 4. After about 5 months of eating there, we are noticing the sashimi pieces were getting smaller and smaller.... More
Here's a spot for great sushi experience. I've been to another location in Pismo Beach and both are fantastic. Food is prepared with presentation in mind. The staff is friendly and accommodating.
Yanagi has great sushi, the staff is very friendly, the service is great. Best sushi on the menu: definitely the 911 Roll! Also great for teppenyaki.
If you are craving for some good sushi and lots of it, Yanagi Sushi will satisfy that craving. I come here often with my family and we almost always order The Boat. You get your money's worth as it comes with a variety of one's favorite sushi. Warning to those who don't have the affinity for raw fish, this dish... More
Our chef was so entertaining and I thought the filet mignon was excellent. I should add that my brother-in-law had the shrimp and scallops and he thought they were a tad old, but my sister and I had the filet and thought the experience there was first rate. We only had the teppenyaki - can't comment on the sushi.
Ordered two tuna rolls and one salmon roll. I always customize the rolls by having cucumber on the outside of the roll. They did it for and extra 2.50 per roll. The tuna was dark and ultra-fresh-tasting. The salmon was a little fatty, but tasted great. The meal came with a tiny side of edamame and a tiny cucumber salad.... More
