Anticipated the opening of this Bakery in 2010, there is the original Portos in Glendale and was part of the Grand Opening therefore could not expect any less of the Downey very modern Bakery and Restaurant. I love the breakfast sanwiches and tortas. The Pastries are the best in town as well as the very extremely well priced cakes and... More

I have had many Portos desserts at parties. Folks seem to love to bring their desserts for potlucks. When i found out they had a restaurant nearby, i could not wait to make a friend date and go. There was a line upto the entrance but the line moved fast, the patrons were friendly. one patron recommended the coffee crumble,... More

Really good food and it consistently tastes good. The only complaint would be the lines that you have to wait in to order and then to have to find a table to sit down at.

Food is good; plenty of delicious pastries to choose from. However, if you don't like chaos, this place is not for you. There are three lines so ask which one to go to before you step in one; the beverage line is quick though. Can't go wrong with papas rellenas (potato balls). Good luck finding a table. Outside is nice.

We arrived at what I thought was an early lunch hour (11:30AM) on a Friday and couldn't believe the crowds. There were about 40 people lined up in two lines. They went pretty quickly though and it gave us time to choose our desserts. We also ordered our sandwiches and found a table outside to wait for our meals. (There... More

I will say I enjoy the pastries at Porto's and I love the chorizo and egg sandwich for breakfast. This Porto's just does not seem to be as well oiled as the other two. Food is good and the initial servers behind the counter are great. After that not the same, still it's worth the stop.

Had God created an 8th day it would be called Porto's. I love this place it is great quality with good prices. I have had most of the pastry selections in the case and it drives you crazy on what to choose from. My personal faves are the cream cheese pastry... the guava and cheese pastry and the meat-stuffed potato... More

I can't say enough about Porto's and their desserts. Whenever we have a family event or a party to go to, a quick stop at Porto's pleases EVERYONE!!! I don't live close but worth the drive every time!

First of all, time your visit. We went early Sat night and the place was packed, which is always a good sign. See my last comment. We tried the chicken empanadas, cuban sandwiches and of course, the potato balls. Everything was the real deal and delicious. I grew up eating Cuban food in Florida and this place gave me deja...
