Flintstones

The bouldering, round rock formations, camp grounds amongst the rocks all reminded of the flintstones. Lots of hiking trails, most around 1-2 hrs. Gives you the chance to do 2-3 trails in different areas, all the trails are so different. Drive to the viewpoint overlooking Palm Springs, you can see... read more

We completed two day hikes and both were extremely challenging. First day to Lost Horse Mine and the loop 2.5 hrs and the second day to the top of Ryan Mountain 2 hrs. The park is so unique. Don't miss Skull rock.

Drove less than an hour from Palm Springs to the JTNP and were so glad we made the trip. Thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful scenery, rock formations, vegetation and the wide open spaces. The observation point at Keyes View was amazing as was the "Teddy Bear" Cholla Cactus Garden. We hiked to Barker Dam and also walked in the Hidden Valley---spectacular!

Stunning geological formations in this desert location. Hiking, camping and rock climbing. Awfully cold this time of year but lots to see just driving through the park. Be sure to stop at the visitors center to pick up free maps and info.

Pictures on line show the beauty of joshua tree but it does not show the over crowded drinking crew that's there to party.

It was a real pleasure leisurely eating breakfast on the Capri patio. Service was good, food was good ( with the exception of the cold toast...to be fair I didn't mention it to the waiter ). Never felt rushed.

The Joshua Tree Restaurant is NOT or near Joshua Tree National Park. It is the restaurant in the Miracle Springs Hotel and suffers from the extremely poor management, service and quality that makes the rest of the Hotel an experience to avoid.

What a great find - away from it all. An old LA movie set from the old west. Pappy and Harriets is now owned by two women and they know how to put on a show. The roasted cheese fries are awesome and so are the burgers. They have nightly jams. Worth a visit - but call and see if... More
