Friendly Wait Staff & Good Food

We had 13 family members gather for our mom's 86th birthday party here. Staff was friendly and efficient. They gave mom her free birthday dessert as a nice touch. Margaritas were really good. Chile relleno was great with nice size portions. Huge guacamole servings and good homemade chips. Huge bean... read more

Las Palmas serves some of the better Mexican food in Desert Hot Springs. A group of local ladies like to convene here every week for Taco Tuesday when a two taco combo with rice, beans, salad, chips and salsa are $7.95. This goes very well with their selection of beers served in chilled mugs. It is a popular dining spot... More

Wish I could have reviewed the place. But they decided to close early. I wonder if the owner knows? They closed at 9:00 Sunday March 22, 2015 and sent us away!

My husband, Tom, and I lived in on the beach in Mexico for about three years, specifically in San Felipe on the Sea of Cortez, and then in Rosarito Beach. We ate at every good Mexican restaurant in both towns, and none come close to the quality and flavors of the Las Palmas Mexican Cuisine in Desert Hot Springs. Arturo,... More

The service here was nice and so quick. The night I was there they had a guitarist, his voice was beautiful and I loved the songs.

I ate here before a 4PM business meeting. I was hoping to get in and out fast, so only ordered a Sopa de Res. I sat for 20 minutes before someone came to take my order, even tho' there were only two other people in the restaurant. I finally did get my order with about 15 minutes to finish it... More

One can get tacos like in Mexico, choice of meat-carne asada, carnitas, lengua, al pastor (no lettuce, cheese and other fillers) for $2 each. My wife's carne asada was very flavorful. The service was excellent! When we talked to the waiter about the salsas, he also brought out a very tasty & spicy habanero sauce. Dinner plates were in the... More

My enchilada meal was good, but my fiance's veggie "tostada" (actually a bowl of food) was drenched in oil. Not very tasty, healthy or appealing. Would have been great if not so much grease...either steam veggies or lightly stir fry!

If you are hungry and want to stay local, you can go there, but nothing to write home about. Service was a bit slow the day we were there. Not much around to visit to eat.

We are regulars. We started for the Monday night $1 tacos which are delicious but then we discovered that they made killer $3.25 margaritas too! Finally we started going for other meals and now we are believers. Great food, great values and excellent service. You won't do better in DHS and probably not the whole Coachella Valley.
