Great food!

It was my first time in a Perugian restaurant and it was a nice suprise. The food was very good, fresh fish and the service was friendly.

I received a coupon flyer in the mail advertising Cafe Secret. It stated that it had won a "Best" award and it also stated that they serve gluten free and vegan dishes! I called in advance to make reservations and talk about their gluten free options. I was assured that they had many options on the menu. "Perfect! " I... More

I guess this place really is a secret, because it's been open 5 years and we only just discovered it. It's a very small restaurant, tucked away at one end of the Del Mar high street. It's sort of set in a very 'Hansel and Gretel' style building and the seating is outdoors, some of it covered above. (There are... More

Lunch time and we are on a street in a town that is totally new to us. How do you pick a restaurant, the old fashion way? Well it is easy. Walk the length of the restaurant district and spot the crowd. Most were eating at the Secret which is obviously not well kept among the locals. The staff were... More

We happened on this restaurant by chance, and sat at an outdoor table which was sheltered from the street by foliage, etc. so it was not noisy. I loved my lunch, which was chaufas (peruvian-cantonese fried rice) with shrimp and pork. There were four large shrimp in the dish. My sister had the passion fruit tiradito (ceviche) which she also... More

My family was looking for a good lunch spot. What we found was a lunch was unbelievably good. We had the pork sandwich, fish sandwich, chaufas (fried rice), and lomito saltado. So much flavor with each bite. The side salad was fantastic. The waitress was so knowledgeable of the menu and guided our choices perfectly with exactly what we were... More

My husband and myself were looking for a lunch spot while visiting Del Mar and what a spot we found! The amazingly inviting exterior drew us in immediately and the charming outdoor seating was delightful. Their Peruvian menu was amazing, offering 6 choices of ceviche, which I happen to love! We finally decided on the Ceviche Classico to share. Wow,... More

A most excellent little sidewalk cafe in downtown Del Mar (the smallest city in San Diego county). Who knew Peruvian food could taste so good. I always get the Peruana salad with fish (usually Mahi Mahi or albacore). The food is always so fresh. Great location: right next to a yoga studio! :) For the best service, ask for Issau!

This place is charming, and the food is very good, very fresh, flavorful. Staff was friendly. Did not have the ceviche, but a local I met raved about it. Go there!

Yummy blends of flavor. Sweet sidewalk cafe in the village of Del Mar. There are not a lot of Peruvian restaurants in San Diego so it was fun change over the overly-built craft brewery and fusion joints. Cafe Secret delivered a genuine and enjoyable dining-date experience.
