Description: Jake’s Del Mar brings new American cooking to the edge – to the water’s edge that is. Located right on the beach in Del Mar Chef Duvinh Ta uses fresh, seasonal products as the inspiration for updating classic preparations of fresh fish, shellfish and premium meats. The lunch, dinner, and Sunday brunch menus showcase clean, eclectic flavors and local, sustainable products that are complemented by Jake’s jaw dropping location on the sand. The nightly Chef’s Special is a seasonal creation that features the best seafood, meats and produce available and through the Legacy of Aloha program, Jake’s donates a portion the proceeds from the Chef’s Special to the San Diego Food Bank.

Great place for drinks and light lunch. My mai tai was made well. The food portions are light but great for smaller meal. The seafood tastes fresh. I had tuna tartar tacos which were 3 small tacos. My husband had seviche and that was also nice and light. They have kids menu and the atmosphere is casual and warm. Overall,... More

I loves that this place is right on the beach and loved the atmosphere. I did not enjoy the food. Great beer selection though. I recommend the creme brûlée for dessert. Afterwards we were able to walk out and sit on the beach.

This is a very pretty restaurant . Lots of views from the dining room and the bar. They have wonderful food. I like everything I ordered. We did dinner and happy hour. There staff was so friendly and quick with the orders, good at offering suggestions if asked. I have traveled many different countries, but none had the view, building,... More

Excellent food. Good value for the money. Nice atmosphere in the outside heated area. A little loud inside the bar.

We are bugs fans of the Duke's restaurant in Malibu, and decided to try this sister establishment here in San Diego County. We can here for lunch and it was another very pleasant experience. The wait staff was pleasant, attentive and efficient. The location and views of the surf magnificent. The food was delicious. We has Mahi Mahi and pulled... More

I had dinner here with coworkers, and enjoyed my dinner. This place is great for being social. But with great views of the Pacific provided by the large windows, you can bring a date for a romantic night also. Just make sure to make a reservation as this place is very popular!

We came to California from the Detroit area on a week long trip for our first anniversary. We were staying in San Marcos but wanted to dine somewhere on the ocean at sunset for our actual anniversary. (a Sunday.) We chose Jake's based on a recommendation from a friend that lives in Vista. (and also backed up by the reviews... More

My friends took me out for dinner here as the sun set on a warm evening with a cool breeze. We had a great time and enjoyed an excellent meal with wine. It was memorable and a beautiful setting. The restaurant offered high-end, but beach-casual, service with California prices.

Jake's was awesome! Make a reservation as early as possible, makes even a week or so in advance. Make your reservation for the sunset time and ask for a table outside on the patio or next to the west windows. We had a party of 6 and from a burger to a surf and turf to the nightly special (a... Went to Jake's tonight for the first time. Was recommended by a gentleman my husband golfed with today. Upon arrival the greeters were so nice and kind and views of the ocean simply beautiful. However it went downhill quickly after that, the service was horrible in all aspects and bought to the managers attention. Food was pricey for portion size,... More
