High-end pasta chain

The setting in Del Mar is quite striking, with a combination of attractive indoor and outdoor dining spaces. The service seemed a little slow and forgetful, but very accommodating of special requests. The food itself was average-to-good Italian.

The first trip here was for my fiance and I for a nice dinner. I called ahead of time and made a reservation that would put us there for sunset and requested to sit on the patio with a good view. I was told that they would request a patio seat for us so I was happy. Upon arrival, I... More

Great location, spectacular view, excellent food and wine. They have a private room for groups. And the patio is gorgeous. Real Italian will please any palette. We held my sons engagement party here for 100 people and it was perfect.

Il Fornaio has been a special place for us to visit when we make a trip over to the coast from the desert where we live. We look forward to the spectacular views, a great menu, the wonderful bread baskets, delicious food, and great service. Sadly, while the views and ambiance are still there (and we had exceptional service from... More

You have to pay a lot for the view not for the food which is only average. The stuff is just OK and pretend to be italian: "bonna sera, signori..." You can go, but its not a must

I only went to Il Fornaio for dessert and coffee but both were delicious and the waiter was outstanding. They have a big outdoor patio with a huge firepit so its really fun to go on a cool evening. I liked it so much I hope to return for dinner soon.

I get it that the waiter was from Italy and had an accent, but please be a good waiter, service was terrible. Buss boy saved him. Food was good

Sat outside at the wine bar area. Good happy hour pricing on appetizers and wines by the glass. The views are incredible though you are a few blocks from the beach, you are up high. Service was friendly if not a bit slow. Nice place for a few glasses of wine.

The range of options was wide ranging, The food was tasty and the service attentive and enjoyable. There were 10 of us who just showed up for lunch a variety of items were sampled from basic Italian to delectable sea food choices. Definitely worth a stop next time you are in Del Mar.
