For the past 45 years, our family has enjoyed the traditional Fish & Chips platter at Jon's. The batter fried cod is crunchy on the outside while moist on the inside. Today, we opted out the fries for double cole slaw which is delicious. The same picnic tables and benches remain on the outside patio and the sea gulls are... More

Jon's is located in the small restaurant area near the Catalina Express and Dana Sport Fishing. They have an excellent seating area outside that lets you enjoy the sun and aroma of the sea. The menu is fairly simple. Fish and Chips, fish tacos and a variety of similar dishes. Everything we tried was good. Friendly people and a pleasant... More

If you like sword fish, this is the place to get it! They don't long-line, but rather use a harpoon, so the fish doesn't get dragged for hours and have it's muscle tissue get all worn out. It's firm and as fresh as you can every get unless you do it yourself! On many occasions we bring out of town... More

There is no need to go into the high end restaurants for good seafood at Dana Point. Jon's Fish Market clearly had the best fish and chips in the area. Even the locals agree that this is the place to go. It's very casual, but very welcoming. Not a huge menu, but our group had everything from a salad to... More

Our favorite "local" hangout for Fried Clam Strips - none of the major restaurants in Dana Point Harbor have them on their menus! Nothing fancy - you order at the counter and pick up your order when called!

We split a grilled fish meal...it was excellent...good cole slaw; fresh and made to order fish and fries. Will go back. NOT on the harbor, but worthwhile nonetheless.

First time we ordered fish sandwich there was no fish but greasey batter with a 3in. piece of lettuce with a tomatoe notice a female cook eating in the kitchen couldn`t help but thinking that was my sandwich. last time was this past june we got some salmon to go... Deep fried fish and chips with an overpriced fish market. Indoor outdoor seating ( watch out for sea bird thieves) makes it ok for the tourists surrounded with little shops and ice cream places. Get there early as they don't change the cooking oil and you'll end up with unusually dark colored fish.

Reasonably priced, good service, good quality and big portions. unless you are very hungry, one order of fish and chips combo is plenty for two people.
