The fish, in the fish and chip,s is fresh and very good. Batter is a bit heavy & greasy. Fries weren't crisp. Cole slaw was average, maybe a little heavy on the mayo. Huge portions. Economical prices. Typical dock-marina decor with picnic tables

I have stopped in to Jon's Fish Market many times in the past following a fishing trip or a day on Catalina Island, but I guess it had been so long that I had forgotten how amazing their fish is. I took my 87 year old mother in law from Colorado, whom I could surmise was skeptical of the simple... More

My English husband had a hankering for Fish and Chips so we googled "best fish and chips Dana Point". Up popped Jon's as the first recommendation and off we went. Located at the very end of Golden Lantern, tucked behind the storefront restaurants, we found this small fish market which fried up some of the fresh seafood offered in its... More

One serving of Fish & Chips will easily serve two people unless you are absolutely starving and aren't going to eat much the rest of the day. My only (minor) complaint is that the malt vinegar served in packages does not have much flavor. Next time I go I'm going to try the scallops & chips. Health advocate warning: This... More

Ate there by recommendation but would not eat there again. Portions were large but way to much batter on everything. Not worth the price.

After eating a late lunch we did not want a big sit down meal. After consulting TripAdvisor we choose Jon's . This is a small order at the front and pick up when called restaurant. It is located right at the harbor near the day fishing boats and close to a wine tasting shop and deli. There is a fish... More

The fish and french fries were very good. Reasonably priced and large portions. Great service and you could sit inside or outside. This is not a 5 star restaurant, it is place your order and they will bring your food to you.

My husband and I ate here for dinner. It literally is a hole in the wall establishment. The menu is sloppily written on a dry erase board with a minimal selection. They have seating inside if you want to feel like you're in a cafeteria. The outside seating is better, although it is so close to each other you have... More

And that's about all you will want to eat there - plates are overflowing so you may want to share. Best to sit outside and then wander the harbor area for a while to walk it off. Fish is fresh every day and you can purchase for home cooking as well.
