I just ate lunch there last wk with 2 other people. My chicken & mushroom crepe was delicious & my cousins pork loin was also very good but my elderly aunt's "steak" sandwich was nothing more than grizzle & fat. We did not expect that! Also the waiter service was very substandard. With only 1 other table occupied at that... More

Lovely tables with fresh linen and flower. Lunch menu is extensive, and very budget oriented. Serving salad or soup, and full plate lunch. Very tasty and enjoyable.

Pseudo upscale French food in the worst location in the harbor. Overpriced and under sized servings with rich sauces is the quick description. There are much better restaurants in the area. One good thing? You'll never have to wait in line.

What a disappointment. Went for lunch, started with lipstick on the water glass, continued by trying to order a bottle of wine. Five times they did not have the bottle from their menu??? Not real French cuisine at all not as described on menu. I know as a trained exec. Chef, what happened to the soul of this place as... More

It should have been a good indication to us that upon arriving on a weeknight, only one table was occupied. The menu ranges from $25 - $30 per plate for entrees and the food was rather ordinary. There was nothing wrong, but one won;d expect more at those prices. Our server, who had very little to do was more interested... More

The French onion soup is amazing. It is thick and has plenty of melted cheese on top. Their other menu items are also very good. The chicken dishes are especially good and the salmon is excellent.

We were celebrating a birthday in mid-December and chose Gemmell's for our dining experience. We were pleased we did. The entire restaurant was decorated for the holidays with a variety of nutcrackers accenting the festivities. The waiter highly recommended the Chilean seabass, which three of us ordered. It was outstanding! The fourth diner ordered a New York steak, which was... More

This gem of a restaurant hidden between a pizza parlor and a liquor store at the Dana Point Harbor is a terrific find. We went there Christmas eve and had a great dinner. The food was good, it didn't have a special (overpriced) menu, the decorations were warm and the service was great also. It doesn't have the PR buzz... More

We had dinner here on a quiet mid week December night. We were the only customers at 8 pm. So the atmosphere was not very warm or festive though the Xmas decor and art on the walls was lovely...seasonal and provencale. Our waiter was a little cold at first....can't blame him hanging around for one table. They did not have... More

A quiet little restaurant with a French flare menu. Very attentive service and excellent food. Great classic French desserts
