We had heard about a place in Dana Point that made great ribs, and I'm fairly certain this was the place. It does not look like much, and we had some trepidations about staying once we were in the place. However, the salad bar was delicious and fresh, and the BBQ was truly outstanding. We ordered the Family Feast, which... More

This place doesn't look like much on the outside and is a locals-friendly bar hangout, but give it a chance and your tummy will be so glad you did! My husband had the brisket sandwich piled high with tender, moist meat on a house made bun with a house-made, delicious coleslaw. It was more than he could finish with sauces... More

A night out with my lady friend found us at the Rib Joint. We almost drove by, as there wasn't much curb appeal. However, I'm always up for an adventure, and this place did not disappoint. The place has a salad bar, the potato salad here is a bit on the spicy side. The coleslaw is very good, and well... More

This is the quintessential road house bbq place. I love it! The feeling is traveling coast hwy 50 years ago with a wood fireplace, big booths and a hillside back dropped patio. Great music and a bar that rivals the "local" bar you have at home. Delicious ribs and meats served with cornbread and a salad bar that most describe... More

OK... this is a little place. Old, but right on PCH. We ate there in the afternoon, so the restaurant was not busy, but there was a crowd at the bar. Locals, I presume. The baby back ribs were good and the service was excellent. Now, you can't compare this to an upscale restaurant because it is not. You'd probably... More

Well... We visited the place because of their advert saying "Best ribs i CA".... The bartender was nice and so was the beer - nothing else good to say about this place. We ordered Prime ribs - supposed to be the best on the menu and they were very rich and felt like chewing gum. Very poor indeed. Would never... More

As a person who loves to smoke their own meat, as was not impressed by their baby back ribs. Food was warm at best and the ribs needed the help of the BBQ sauce. Well cooked ribs should not need any sauce.

Positives: one family member enjoyed the pork ribs...and that is about it. Kids chicken tenders had NO flavor. Baby back ribs were tough and also lacking flavor. So I knew ordering chicken marsala in a rib joint was dangerous...but I have never had marsala that tasted sweet like teriyaki. Service was a bit slow for a small place that wasn't... More

We enjoyed lunch here today. Nice chatting with the waiter, loved the selection of beer, and the BBQ was delicious. The chicken was super moist and flavorful. The pork ribs were beautifully seasoned, the dipping sauce is what made them so tasty. The cornbread was dry and the potatoes ho-hum. But the BBQ was great, as advertised. We'll come back... More

The Rib Joint interior conjures the classic look of a place you'd expect to have good food. Dimmed lights, locals at the bar, and a pleasant lack of "cookie-cutter" decor you'll find at chain restaurants. My wife and I ordered both the beef and pork ribs, and both were delicious and gigantic. The bar has a descent selection of beers... More
