Thanksgiving dinner at Val's

Val's is one of the 'old time' classic restaurants. My wife and I went there for Thanksgiving dinner this year. The turkey dinner was excellent, but have to admit there was some sticker shock at the price ($27.95) per dinner. Having said that, the service and food was excellent. We did note that... read more

We went in there late at 9pm. Found the environment was very warm and family feeling. Ordered their primb rib, The executive cut was HUGE! But SO tasty that I am already missing it!!! I must will go back there to eat that steak again in the future.

We ate here twice for dinner, and the quality of the food was just average. Val's used to be a great place years ago according to my grandfather, but it's past it's glory days. Decor is dated and the menu is old-fashioned. Bar seems busy enough.

I was in town for a funeral. We all grew up in Daly City so we met the night before at Val's for dinner. The food was delicious. Big generous portions. The service was superb. So many favorites on the menu as well. It was a great choice for bringing back a traditional meal that we grew up with and... More

We had great expectations since the food around the San Fran area is usually stellar just about anywhere you go. It was within walking distance from our hotel, the Hampton Inn, which was nice. Service was prompt and very friendly, but the food was just average. My wife's salmon dish was decent and my fried chicken was decent, but not... More

The staff is very friendly and efficient. They offer booth or table seating and have room for large parties. The food is good. My husband had the pork chop and said it was okay. I had the chicken piccata and it was really good.

Comfortable, warm, and cozy. The service has always been excellent with very pleasant personnel. Both Brunch and Dinners have been a delightful experience. Salads are always crisp and cool. Soups, hot and delicious. Main entrée extremely delicious. On Holidays the prices go up a bit but, not that terrible to put you in the poor house. Reservations are something we... More

Had a steak which was pretty good. My husband had a pork chop which was dry and bland. The decor is very old-from the 70's. On the night we ate here they had karaoke going on in the bar area. There was an odor of old dirty carpeting when you enter . We were just too tired to go hunting... More

Excellent neighborhood pub and restaurant. I had read a review of this establishment before I went in and it was right on the money. I'd been staying at the Hampton Inn, Daly City, which is about a block south of Val's. Walked past Val's on my walk to the office and back. Read a few reviews, decided to go in.... More

Whenever we visit San Francisco we head here...First of all the food is plentiful and awesome...Recently we had a good size group gather at Val's after a burial of a family member...It became an enjoyable wake as we all had tasty and fresh food along with a steady flow of liquid refreshments...To see Val's outside it looks ancient, and it...
