Interesting food

We enjoyed our dinner at the Burma Café. The Burmese Empanada was crispy, the Oh Noh Kauswer has great favor, and the Kabocha Pork was very tender. They serve good size portions at very reasonable price. I would also recommend the Burmese Milk Tea, the tea/spices they used was quite different than... read more

How delightful to find a Burmese restaurant tucked in this out-of-the-way shopping plaza :) Was here on a geocache maintenance outing in Pacifica with my partner, and this came up happily when he looked on Yelp to see where we might dine nearby. Pros: The vegetarian samusa soup was hearty and nicely spiced, and the roti was flaky and tender... More

Just returned from a trip to Myanmar & enjoyed all the varieties of food served. Decided to try Burma Cafe and was pleasantly surprised at it authenticity and very flavorful food. My wife and I shared a bowl of hot and spicy Mohinga soup, the national dish of Myanmar. It is actually a very mild fish and noodle soup, eaten... More

I live in Daly City and never heard of this excellent place before. It is hidden at the far end of a very indistinct strip mall in a residential neighborhood. When you enter the restaurant a great surprise greets you. A pretty and serene dining room, comfortable seating, and friendly staff. The quite extensive menu has so many delicious sounding... More

Great service always provided by the waitress. Quiet place for conversations, easy parking. Food is average. A male who answered the phone was weird. He did not say the name of the restaurant, he kept silent for seconds and said "HELLO". I thought I called the wrong number. When I asked him for the business hour, he said "what do... More

If you live in San Francisco and mention Burmese food everyone will say 'Burma Superstar.' While Burma Superstar is fantastic, you typically have to wait a long time to get a table. Burma Cafe is just as good but without the long lines and waiting. They have a wide selection of traditional Burmese dishes and the service is top notch.... More

I was shocked when I was told this place was to be the restaurant for my nephew's wedding-rehersal meal. I was thinking, "He chooses this hole-in-the-wall when he could go to any restaurant in San Francisco?" But the service was amazing, surpassed only by the great food. Everything we had was vegetarian. Some of it was very spicy, some not... More

This is my first taste of Burmese cuisine and it came out well. This nice small restaurant in Daly City has a wide variety on offer - tried the Kemar Platha (Burmese Empanada) to start with - and could have had only that.. it was absolutely delicious, went on to the Wan Gyi Doke with Prawn Curry - washed it... This was our first time to eat Burmese food & really enjoyed it! We tried an array of appetizers, soups, and entrees but of everything we really enjoyed the coconut chicken soup, the chicken Biriyani (with raisins, almonds, cardamom and cinnamon), and watermelon-kiwi lemonade. The atmosphere was clean and modern. The service was excellent. My husband doesn't generally like asian... More

I pulled into St. Francis Shopping Center to turn around, after going to LabCorp for blood work. I was ravenous since I had been fasting for the blood draw. After spotting a sign that said, "Dim Sum Specialists," I decided that might assauge my hunger pains. One look inside, at their pathetic offerings, shriveled and dried up, turned me off... More
