Having lived in Japan I will tell you that this is very authentic Japanese food. First off make a reservation. Secondly you will be sitting on the floor. They do offer about four tables with chairs so if you require that please add that in your reservation. What's unique is when you sit on the floor under the short table... More

This is a really good Japanese restaurant. The Sushi is very very good and fresh. Whats even better is the cooked items on the menu. They have a decent selection of sake as well. Service is a bit slow but overall ok. I highly recommend this for the quality of food and is my favorite Japanese restaurant in Cupertino.

Gochi is so highly rated on Yelp that it really drove my expectations up. Thankfully, I was not disappointed :) Make sure you make a reservation if you plan on having dinner on a weekend night in Gochi, since the place fills up pretty fast. My boyfriend had to call about 5 times throughout the day before someone finally picked... More

If you really want something different, try Gochi! Amazingly good fusion tapas. A wonderful variety of preparations - stir fry, fried, salads, pizzas (yes pizzas), broiled nabes, etc. The clay pot rice bowls are excellent. There are tables, floor seating (with leg cutouts) and tatami rooms. Variety of beers & sochu. Be sure to make reservations for dinner. New Mt.... More

Our Japanese family told us it was their Japanese favorite in San José area. We especially enjoyed salmon carpaccio, shrimp in mayonnaise, and clay pot rice. We'll be back.

Not what I was expecting given all of the rave reviews. Some of the tapas were tasty, others fell very flat. We ate very late, and service was rushed - - more interested in getting the doors closed than serving us. And it lost another star when two members of our party got sick after eating there. Won't be back.

You know a restaurant is good when you drive into an unassuming strip mall and see a line outside waiting for it to open at 6pm on a Tuesday night. We were lucky to have reserved one of the private rooms and were seated quickly. What followed was a load of fun. Great sake selection, excellent sushi and sashimi that... More

I love taking people here when they come in from out of town. Food is generally pretty good and the atmosphere is fun. The only thing that mars it for me is that food is a hit and miss. When it's good it's great and when it's not, it's eh. The fusion pizza is probably one of the most consistent... More

The food was excellent and the prices are more than reasonable. Some of the food is authentic and the rest is not too much fusion. For sure need to go back and try a few more items. I lived in Cupertino for 18 years and only found this place because of trip advisor

reservations definitely recommended! We have had several amazing meals here, delicious sashimi, fusion pizzas (sounded weird but SO good), duck and pork dishes, rice claypots (yummy but perhaps the least interesting/original of all our dishes) - all amazing. It does not come cheap - but we felt it was worth every bit - it's usually a special occasion dinner spot... More
