We visited L.A. after a five year absence making Johnnie's a must stop. The food was as expected GREAT!!!! The fries are my favorite! But really you go there for the pastrami which will not disappoint!

My boyfriend loves pastrami and wanted to come here to Johnnie's. From Long Beach, it took us about 40 minutes on this fine Memorial Day Monday--which makes this place blessedly empty so far. I've never been here but I like the patio dining area where we sat. There were cute little picnic style tables with flower boxes lining the perimeter... More

Tried their Hot Pastrami on French roll and I was surprise the size of the meat oozing fresh from the pan. It taste like moisture and oily in your mouth without the pickles, jalapenos, or mustard on it. Unlike other pastrami I tasted before this one has distinctive taste that's similar to homemade pastrami. It's raw and I feel like... More

I haven't been to Johnie's for 5 years at least - and I got a chance to go this past week when I was in LA. Let me tell you - it was WORTH THE WAIT. You can't go and not have the Pastrami, but my buddy isn't a fan, so he ordered the Patty Melt. Under any other circumstances,... More

I've been to Johnnie's Pastrami on Washington dozens of times, but I wasn't reviewsing on TA then. Had time to go there on Wednesday night. As expected, outstanding sandwich (Hot Corned Beef on French Roll), fries/onion rings, water...and Heineken. All while sitting outside at 7:30 pm at night by the fire in shorts and T-shirts. Pickles to die for. All... More

Johnnie's is far and away the best pastrami sandwich in Los Angeles. The outdoor seating area is nice with a great fire pit to keep you warm on those latte night visits. I love the pickles, people in the know will ask for the "atomic" mustard and clear those sinuses. I'm literally drooling just thinking about it.

Johnnie's is A Favorite Staple of my family since 1960's , We'd drive by on movie night ,on the way to the Culver Drive -In Theater , sometimes we'd stop bye on the way home ! Then there'd be a MOB . But just like in childhood Johnnie's Juke Box played away. Inspiring some to sing or dance . Wether... More

I have been a fan of Johnnie's for 30 years. Now the pastrami is dry and has the flavor of cardboard and basically poor quality. Get it together. You gave a reputation to uphold.

Been coming here since the 70's and true comfort food. I prefer the corned beef to pastrami, either way, get it on a roll and add some hot mustard. My wife swears that their chocolate shakes are the best in the world. Who am I to argue?! Open late, till about 0100 Sunday/ Tuesday, till 0230 Wednesday and Thursday, and... More

My husband is a pastrami fan so this place was perfect for him. He got heaping piles of meat on rye. I had hoped for a salad. They only have cole slaw and potato salad sides so I has to settle for a hot dog. It's a small and nothing fancy kind of a place with paper cups and baskets... More
