Tasty plates

Had dinner with two other couples. We enjoyed delicious salads, tandoori spiced chicken wings, skillet mac and cheese, agnolotti, braised wild mushroom flatbread pizza, and sea bass entree. Lovely cocktails as well- good service

As a Culver City local, I really excited to try this restuarant. On Friday, I finally had a chance and it wasn't worth all the hype. My friend is a regular customer of Akasha, so he swore by this place. We didn't have a reservation so we asked to be added to the wait list-2 people. The hostess had an... More

The problem is that this place is way overpriced for what it is. Food is good, but not incredible. Service is fair but not outstanding. Portions are small for the price. Sliders (regular, chicken, and lamb) are fabulous depending on the season. Curried seafood is A++. The skirt steak i had hear was tough, served medium-rare instead of requested medium-well.... More

Nice visual appeal. Good location. Good choices on menu. It just isn't a place I would go back to. So many other choices in neighborhood. I went for lunch and I think the server had an off day. Had the spinach salad with salmon. Meh. Pricey at $18. No bread at the table. Good ice tea, though.

Well... we are loud-talkers and could barely hear each other. This is one of the louder rooms in town. Don't try to have an intimate and quiet conversation. Drinks are pricey, so better to go when someone else is paying the bill. (or during happy hour, which I don't see listed on their web site, but see references to around... More

Here now. While for us the kitchen closes early the service was fast friendly and helpful. The atmosphere was lower lighting with a casual elegance. The food choices were interesting and diverse. Small plate of macaroni with jalapeño was delicious but definitely a meal not an appetizer. Very happy with our walk by choice to stop here. Highly recommend

Akasha is a few blocks from where I work and an easy walk through a section of Culver City that has recently revitalized and become popular. There is a public parking structure about a block away. It was lunch, the wait was short, we sat outside by the sidewalk. The menu was mostly healthy selections. I ordered the veggie burger... More

Love this place. We are regulars for breakfast - has a hip, studio crowd - great organic coffees and teas, fabulous service and delicious pastry and eggs! Top notch. Dinner and lunch are terrific too! Akasha is a great chef!

The restaurants in Culver City change hands and names frequently. However, Akasha has not. It has a great menu and great atmosphere. The wine and beer selections are fantastic.
