Delicious Take on California Cuisine

Great neighborhood restaurant with an excellent Kale Ceasar Salad, some nice flatbread pizzas, and other great vegetarian and meateater options. I don't recommend their cocktails - the mixologists are so-so, but they have a decent wine list and beers too.

This used to be one of my favorite Culver City stops, but the pick-up scene has gotten so overwhelming it's a) hard to get a table, b) awkward waiting around for a table while the guys ogle you, c) impossible to have dinner with girlfriends without guys circling around, offering to buy drinks, generally disrupting a nice "girls night out."... Since we were arriving around 6 o'clock on a Friday night, we were surprised the restaurant wasn't full. Nice looking place, and decent menu. However, for $30 the piece of Seabass I had was way too small. Once our food was served to us, we were ignored. Lots of neat restaurants around here, so we'll try some others in the... More

First of all Akasha is a really great looking restaurant with some very interesting lighting. My wife and I enjoy eating at the bar and have always enjoyed the food and service. We are always conscious of the fresh ingredients used in their cooking. The Culver City Farmer's market sets up right in front of the restaurant. When dining with... More

Inattentive service. Okay food. No reason to return. Waiter did not write down our order and kept forgetting items so the progression of how dinner was served was unusual. No one checked in or refilled water or cleared plates.

As a Culver City local, I really excited to try this restuarant. On Friday, I finally had a chance and it wasn't worth all the hype. My friend is a regular customer of Akasha, so he swore by this place. We didn't have a reservation so we asked to be added to the wait list-2 people. The hostess had an... More

Had dinner with two other couples. We enjoyed delicious salads, tandoori spiced chicken wings, skillet mac and cheese, agnolotti, braised wild mushroom flatbread pizza, and sea bass entree. Lovely cocktails as well- good service

The problem is that this place is way overpriced for what it is. Food is good, but not incredible. Service is fair but not outstanding. Portions are small for the price. Sliders (regular, chicken, and lamb) are fabulous depending on the season. Curried seafood is A++. The skirt steak i had hear was tough, served medium-rare instead of requested medium-well.... More

Nice visual appeal. Good location. Good choices on menu. It just isn't a place I would go back to. So many other choices in neighborhood. I went for lunch and I think the server had an off day. Had the spinach salad with salmon. Meh. Pricey at $18. No bread at the table. Good ice tea, though.

Well... we are loud-talkers and could barely hear each other. This is one of the louder rooms in town. Don't try to have an intimate and quiet conversation. Drinks are pricey, so better to go when someone else is paying the bill. (or during happy hour, which I don't see listed on their web site, but see references to around... More
