Go with the Small Plates

For five of us we ordered a total of 10 dishes, mostly small plates, but also some veggie sides, brussels and spinach. It was just the right amount to allow us room for a few amazing desserts. My favorite was the burrata on walnut pesto which was just amazingly creamy. The octopus was especially... read more

We had takeaway from Akasha on our first night in LA. Varied menu and good for vegetarians. I had a great salad from there and chips (for risk of being too healthy!) Really tasty and prepared quickly.

We loved the Thanksgiving dinner. Being from New England, but visiting our daughter in California, we were afraid we'd get the typical trendy, pseudo health-crazed, overly embellished California fare, but we were so happy to see a totally traditional meal: turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, gravy and cranberry sauce. That's Thanksgiving! Not only that, but it was delicious, and the pie... More

114 reviews Elite ’15 4.0 star rating 12/19/15 I used to go here when it first opened and they are pretty consistent with their food. Love the onion rings and the mac and cheese. But the best thing about Akasha is their happy hour. Wednesdays are 50% off for bottle of wines. On normal days its just 50% of their... More

I would have given Akasha a 5 star review but each time I visit the service is so terrible. Maybe they are understaffed. Our waiter doesn't come to check in to see if we need anything or take or orders often enough. It's very disruptive to flag down a different waiter and they do not come help you they just... More

The decor, The staff. The meal. The service! All stand out as top notch! Four of us were seated promptly and the server (David) knew the menu inside and out and too pride in his job. Great place for an evening out with friends or for a fantastic business dinner! I will be back

Brought some folks from out-of-town. They were impressed! Very reliable and the food does not disappoint. Something on the menu for everyone, vegetarians, vegans, and even those pesky meat-eaters :)

It was my birthday yesterday, Two of the restaurants I wanted to go were closed on Monday. While struggling for restaurant choices, I decided to be adventurous and explore our neighborhood of Downtown Culver. I recalled walking by Akasha, felt a little intimidated by the dark windows and their eclectic menu never really grabbed me all these years. But then... More

We joined another couple for dinner here during a recent California visit and had a marvelous experience. The place had a wonderful ambience and food choices were eclectic and varied. Our meals were very enjoyable, as the food was fresh, tasty and nicely presented. We enjoyed a nice bottle of wine with our meal and left feeling happy and satisfied.
