...but not the turkey burger

Went to Akasha in Culver City the other night. Great ambiance, even if a bit noisy, first rate service, interesting menu of small and large plates, reasonable prices. We walked in right at happy hour at this farm to table place. Luckily, we got a spot at the bar, because the rest of the place was reserved…for the entire night! I had a beet salad with chicken and my husband had the sake and anise short ribs. Both were great! We also shared sweet potato fries to which... More

Four of us had dinner at Akasha recently and had a great time. The cocktails were excellent, the food was very good and service was attentive. We sat on the terrace which probably wasn't as comfortable as the inside restaurant, but can't really complain. The LA Dine Out menu was particularly great, although only I had it and the others... I came here with family over 5 years ago with family and liked it so I wanted to return. My daughter and I came for dinner after 8 pm on a Monday night. The LA Dine Out Menue was available and looked tempting but was a bit too much food for so late during the week. The deserts on it... More

I stumbled upon this restaurant with some colleagues. We were fashionably late, but still had our table waiting. To my surprise as we sat down the hostess says it is 1/2 off wine Wednesday. My prayers had been answered. We ordered a few Red Zins in the upper ranges that were just fabulous. The sommelier was knowledgeable and great to... More

Akasha in Culver City always surprises me with their clever dishes and cocktails. Love their wines and the look and feel of the restaurant. I've felt at home eating with a group or sitting at the bar alone. Food is American with a twist, usually mexican and/or asian influences. Always something light offered, in compliment to something heavier and stick... More

Third visit to this restaurant, this time for Thanksgiving. Five of us, seated outside. Short review: The food and cocktails were very good. The service was horrible. Akasha, you really messed up our family's Thanksgiving. Long review: It took three hours to eat. There were several 30-minute lapses where no one came to the table to check on us, including... More

Have been to Akasha several times during the past few years. Atmosphere warm and friendly. This was a family visit and included our not quite 3 year old grandson. We went early [530] and our grandson was accommodated without fuss or bother. Food is eclectic and quite good. Wine and beer lists are extensive and thoughtfully chosen. Highly recommended.

Culver City is so easy to get to and it has so many good restaurants. Every time I go to Culver City, it turns out to be a good experience. Akasha is no exception. The food, service, ambiance are all really good. This is another restaurant with unique menu items that are really good. Will go back to try other... More
