This is a diner is a small town, the food is decent, but it could be much better. They could expand their menu to include more creative faires such as breakfast tacos and burritos, fruitier waffles, pancakes, and crepes... The pancakes are good, but having buttermilk, and other full grain options would be great. The service is excellent.. The people... More

We came in for brunch during a motorcycle tour of the rim of the world. There were 20+ people in our group and were quickly seated in. The staff were very accommodating and ensured that everyone were taken care of. The food came in quickly and ensured that the coffee were always hot and topped off. Overall, the staff were... More

We've been here a few times when visiting the Crestline area. Seemed to be a family-friendly place with all the stuffed bears around. Unfortunately that's the best thing about this place! Our last visit here will definitely be our last! Food was terrible, some of our food actually tasted spoiled! Service was terrible. It wasn't even busy but our waitress... More

My husband and I have been visiting Crestline and the surrounding mountain towns for years and we've ducked into Billy Bear's a few times for a meal. It was always a fairly typical "family" restaurant and while we never had any complaints, the meals we had there weren't terribly memorable. Until the other day. We stopped in for a late-ish... I used to live in Crestline Ca and will be moving back soon. Billy Bears was OK, could be alot better. Food is average, Bills Villager and some other joints are better. Cleanliness is average, service is OK, needs a make over and a cleaner and better menu.

Aloha everyone! Ok, this place is an example where reality exceeds (or at least meets) expectations. And that isn't bad at all. So, this was a surprising good restaurant choice. My son and I ate here on while on our late Aug/early Sept section hike (Section C) of the Pacific Crest Trail. (To explain, we had a rental car, and... More

The food was good and reasonably priced, portions were of good size and it was close to our hotel so we could walk over - Met a very nice couple who live in the area - they had their travel mates with them, a beautiful parrot who entertained us from his perch (the review mirror of their Van) along with... I lived in Crestline for over 10 years and Billy Bear's was always a last resort! Had some pretty gnarly service and the food was just OK on a good day! Guess you get what you pay for.

Had our brunch 'to go' but everything from my egg combo plate to hubby's biscuits/gravy/sausage to our son's burger and fries were very good!

I like small Mom and Pop diners. This one was okay.. nothing special about it but I did like all the bears (stuffed animals) all over the diner.
