I asked the staff at my hotel in Covina for the best local Mexican place and they sent me to Ray's. The place is small, but with a family-friendly atmosphere. The staff was nice, the waiter was polite and efficient. Both the waiter and an older gentleman (who turned out to be Ray's cousin) were going from table to table... More

Wifey and I avoid chain restaurants and some family owned and operated Mexican are a little on the bland side; not at Ray's Tepeyac. Vivienne211 nailed it on the Hollenbeck Burrito, scrumptious and HUGE. The Chile Verde is my favorite and the combination plates will not disappoint.

This place has none of the fancy Mexican-fusion type dishes found at pricey places, but very good traditional Mexican-American dishes and at very reasonable prices. Some highlights: their Albondigas soup, Pescado al mojo de ajo (fish with butter & garlic), Pollo burrito (shredded chicken), Fajitas, Chicken flautas.

Lots of food, great quality and reasonable prices. Only wish that they had more locations.

I have been dining at Ray's Tepeyac for quite a few years now. The food is always fresh, hot, and tasty. The salsa and refried beans are some of the best I've had. I almost always order my favorite combination - cheese enchilada and shredded beef taco. Then I finish it off with their excellent deep-fired ice cream. It is... More

I have recommended Ray's Tepeyac to many of my friends and family. And once they try it they have always gone back!! Not only are the meals of the finest quality, exceptional authentic home made meals that are never disappointing. We have been going there for over 15 years and we all just love that place! The food is not... More

Ray's Tepeyac can be a very busy place, and for a good reason. The portions are generous and you can get all your favorite, basic Mexican dishes. No full bar, but that doesn't bother me. I love the cheese enchiladas and burritos best. The fish is also good, though very garlicky; I'm sure you could ask them to cut down... More
