We moved out of the area so I haven't been to this place in years. After we went to our daughters graduation at Azusa Pacific University we all met at the North Woods Inn. They let my wife decorate the table. There is a bar. My wife and I had filet mignon. Perfect! Baked potatoes are huge. Salad is family... More

This place is the last anyone should go to if they want to watch their weight. For the rest it is great. They start you off with a bowl of peanuts and you throw the shells on the floor. Then comes the salads. A green salad with blue cheese dressing and a red cabbage salad with a vinaigrette. The red... More

My wife and I first ate at North Woods on a date over 30 years ago and we thought it was the bee's knees as we were in our teens. Over the years we have eaten there countless times. This is the first time that I have rated the North Woods even though I have been in the hospitality business... More

The best part of this place is the atmosphere with a great bar and peanut shells to throw on the floor. The salads are killer and the baked potato and garlic bread are a good trio for the steaks...I'm not too emphatic about their rice dish as it's too dry and tastes too much like bell peppers which don't agree... Did you ever go back to see the house you grew up in? It seems so small, and slighly dingy. Well, this was my experience with Clearman's. As a teenager growing up close by, North Woods was the place for first dates, birthdays and Saturday lunch for all you can eat salads. Nobody makes a Red Cabbage salad as good... More

A bit over 40 years ago, North Woods Inn was a favorite place for everyone to go to have a great meal, a few libations and a fun time. It's casual atmosphere combined with terriffic food was a thing you did fairly often. A must with out of town guests! You had to get there early or be prepared to... More

Until last night, we has last dined at a North Wood's Inn more than 30 years ago. And the experience was pretty much as we remembered it. Fun pseudo-frontier-type atmosphere, and good food. My wife really enjoys the red cabbage salad, while I prefer the green salad with bleu-cheese-type dressing. Both are served family style. Our steaks were good. We... More

This place has been a classic in my mind for over 15 years, but last Friday has served to remove this former gem from the history of great restaurants in my mind. We ordered ribs and split the plate. Salad was great--just as expected. Service was slow and it wasn't a busy time. But the kicker on the whole experience... More

Even if you just pick up the red cabbage salad, you will be glad you went. Feels historical as it has been around awhile.
