Review of Taste of Texas: we'll they love their salt. A lot! The guacamole was saturated with it and the cap of the lemon pepper seasoning must have fallen off. The beans were cold and without flavor. The salad, well a grocery store could do better and what the pass for carne guisada was too salty and not what a... More

We pass this place all the time and decided to finally try it. We pulled up and the place was totally vacant! I thought it was closed. On a Saturday afternoon at dinner time? It turned out there was a reason for that. The moment I walked in I was greeted with attitude. I simply asked how does this restaurant... More

We used to drive by this place and it was always crazy busy. My husband and I decided to go the other night. It should've been a clue when there were no cars in the parking lot. The place inside Is really big but looked dirty. We walked up to the counter and waited and waited. No one came to... More

Long time customer of Nicks cause I miss Texas style food. Previously it was a family style resturaunt but since the relocated and started having live music the prices keep going higher and higher!!! Tried the live music events and its seems like they turned it into a club like atmosphere. If you should happen to go one morning after one... More

I tried the enchiladas they were average, everyone else tried the bar b q ribs they are good. Value is good for what you get. The tortillas taste homemade and fresh. I think it is a good value to take families as you can purchase a family meal. If you don't eat meat not the place for you.

Short Version: Good food especially their beef (and reasonable lunch specials), friendly staff and a laid back atmosphere (with a host of Tejano and regional bands several times a month). The building might be a turn off for some, but if you get can past that, it's definitely worth a taste...or two or three. Longer Version: Taste of Texas has... More

Fun atmosphere, good food. It's a big cavernous building, but it works just fine for finger-lickin' good food

Hubby, Son and I went there for the 1st time last night to see Brenton Wood. Restaurant set-up wasn't exactly what I expected but after eating their Brisket, that flew out my head in a hot second!! Their staff was great. Got our seats right away as well as food/drinks. And as a smoker, thanks for having a place for... More
