As you can see by my photo of the seafood market case you have a large selection,at least 20, fresh fish, shell fish, and around 10 different salad to choose from. Although I have not eaten in their cafe, I can assure you the food is fresh. I have often wondered why NONE of the markets in Costa Mesa, which is 2... More

This is a small (seats 24) place within a seafood shop. The shop is crazy clean and doesn't smell, always a good sign. I started with the Pacific Fish Ceviche, which is probably the best thing I've ever had in a restaurant. The cioppino was also incredible, full of flavor and perfectly seasoned. All in all this was a great... More

We dined here on 1/4 and the food was very good. My friend had steamed clams and I had a grilled cheese sandwich. The service was also very good and I would certainly return here again. This was our second visit to this restaurant and it was as good as the first. We also ran into some friends that were... More

My hubs and I went here for lunch yesterday on the suggestion of a true foodie friend .. Wow! Wonderful service, delicious food. Truly best little neck clams we've had, and we shared fish & chips (yum!) and the tuna melt (yum, again) wish we lived closer, we'd be regulars! The fish market was beautiful, with anything you can think... More

Santa Monica Seafood (Costa Mesa) is the very best merchant of the freshest seafood available in Orange County. The retail staff is very conscientious, very friendly, and always willing to give tips on the best way to cook their seafood. The assortment of seafood is the best and most varied that you can find, and the quality of the seafood... More

We ate dinner at the Costa Mesa location recently. This is a place where you can buy fresh seafood in addition to having a restaurant on the premises. My husband ordered clam chowder and the special (halibut), I had fish & chips, and our daughter had the chicken. The clam chowder and halibut were both really good. I would not... More

My wife and I Loved this Lunch. Ordered a dozen Oysters; the Kusshi's, preferred over the Kumato's, absolutely ( five stars) as good or better than the Zuni in San Francisco. Fresh as the Sea Breeze, a nice Chardonnay. Then we ordered the Mussels in broth with French fries ( four stars) broth was somewhat bland, Mussel's as fresh as... More

The conditions were perfect with 75 degree weather and an outside table and a very well trained waitress. The oysters were cold, cold, cold in a bed of ice and absolutely delectable. And expensive ($3.00-$3.50 or $2/each at happy hour). But worth it. Our waitress explained each variety on a sampler platter of 6 different types. A glass of pinot... More

Although I live in Los Angeles, I make it a point to stop in and have a bite to eat when I am in the area. The seafood is fresh and the service is very attentive. The beer and wine selection also compliments their menu. Being that this is a seafood market with a dining area, I typically have pre-dinner... More
