Best seafood in years

This is a seafood market with a nice little restaurant in it. We had a really nice waiter and the manager or owner came over and checked on us later. But the food is even better than the service. We had the absolute best calamari of our lives and we're old! Then we had the Cioppino, we both ordered... read more

We love this place. We have been coming here for a few years since our son has been down here for college. Freshest seafood - especially the oysters - you will find anywhere. I had their cioppino - it is so good, just a little spicy (a good thing). My family had scotch salmon prepared perfectly, and the seabass which... More

A go to place for all seafood lovers. You can grab your favorite fish and take it home to cook or better yet, grab a seat and let them cook it for you. Don't leave without having oysters. They are the best!

Spring break at Newport Coast! We asked about fresh seafood with a good family atmosphere. Santa Monica Seafood was perfect! The food was outstanding. We shared a chilled Dungeness Crab and split the chiopino. Our son (7 years old) loved their fish and chips. The market was fun as we could see the fresh fish and seafood in the display... More

though the menu never changes the quality of the fish and how it is prepared is excellent. The menu offers a variety of different preparations of fish and one can eat well without hurting the pocketbook or waistline. I enjoy the oysters and swordfish sandwich. Plus there is the fun of shopping at the fish market afterwards. Recommend it when... More

Santa Monica Seafood is a three store franchise that is more than just a restaurant. This is a business that provides fresh fish to other local restaurants and stores. There are locations in Santa Monica, Santa Barbara and Costa Mesa. I have only ever been to the Costa Mesa store but I was impressed with the café and the store... More

Fantastic selection of fresh seafood but they have a very limited menu in their cafe. Major drawback to dining here is if you want one of their fresh fish or seafood on display in the market they won't prepare it for you. All those great choices but you can't get any of them. Their week's fish was tuna which frankly... More

• Santa Monica Fish Co in Costa Mesa. We went for lunch on President’s Day around 12:45 and it was busy but we found the last open table. Our server was Tommy who was attentive and knowledgeable about the menu and helped guide our selections. Carmen had the jumbo shrimp Caesar salad and it was very good. I had the... More

As you can see by my photo of the seafood market case you have a large selection,at least 20, fresh fish, shell fish, and around 10 different salad to choose from. Although I have not eaten in their cafe, I can assure you the food is fresh. I have often wondered why NONE of the markets in Costa Mesa, which is 2... More

This is a small (seats 24) place within a seafood shop. The shop is crazy clean and doesn't smell, always a good sign. I started with the Pacific Fish Ceviche, which is probably the best thing I've ever had in a restaurant. The cioppino was also incredible, full of flavor and perfectly seasoned. All in all this was a great... More
