I really enjoyed the omakase as they serve you both cooked dishes and sushi. The entree dishes were very creative and flavorful. Since I love sushi, we ordered extra on the side so we can try some of the other fishes there. The fish is very fresh - you don't even want to dip your sushi in soy sauce. Although... More

Food served to you raw, you cook it over a BBQ in centre of table, make sure to order the marinated pieces, the taste is well worth the visit

During my two weeks stay here in Costa Mesa I have already visited this place three times and the Sushi is always perfect. You get a healthy portion of always very good fish and just the right amount of rice, which means not too much as in other places. The seasoning is perfect and therefore there is no need to... More

This was a truly amazing meal. If you want the real deal for authentic Japanese sushi this is it. But it will cost you.

I want to start off by saying, "make reservations", but if you don't, fear n the wait for the sushi bar is still worth it. The entire restaurant is tiny. However, their smallness really help project an intimate environment, while their chef to patron ratio made it feel like we had his undivided attention. Furthermore, one of the refreshing things... Restaurant was small and cozy. Went here for an anniversary dinner and it did not disappoint. Had the omokase dinner and we got to watch the chef prepare all of our dishes.

This place is traditional in ever sense of the word.... Don't expect rolls on the menu, or soy sauce on your table. They grate fresh wasabi to order, and it will blow you away. Luckily I went with a friend who is Japanese to show me how it's done. I definitely recommend ordering "omakase" instead of off the menu. This... More

This is the best sushi ever! The appetizers are good (edamame, radish salad) however, go straight to the nigiri. Tip: no need to ask for soy sauce or wasabi, as it is not served. Why? You don't need it! The fish on rice speaks for itself. So enjoy!

The food is delicious. And I met this young Japanese server and stayed with me for the most part explaining how to cook the food and educate me on the different dishes.

I had an excellent meal at Ikko. The restaurant is very small, about eight tables and the sushi bar. Reservations were recommended and we were glad we had them as the restaurant filled up within minutes of our arrival. There were three servers, so there was never a wait for anything. The food is some of the best I have... More
