Memphis is a great place to feel relaxed and have some reasonably priced food. You can go big or go small. Last visit I had a wonderful shrimp corn chowder and an order of their brussel sprouts. Were both great! The staffing is very cheerful, but they seem to be stretched too far in terms of numbers they have to... More

Exellent food and drinks. Lunch is fun, lots of locals stop in for great food and beverages. Dinner is good too. Tourists and visitors will find this not a common venue. Music at times is very good too. Will visit again. Joe

A class member found this through Yelp and we tried it. He was interested in Cajun and he got it. The grilled Cajun salmon sandwich was excellent, as was the gumbo and pulled pork sandwich on brioche with cole slaw. It was very crowded at lunch, and our party of 6 sat at 3 adjoining tables, but the food was... More

We wanted a good breakfast place and we used Yelp to find this one. It was hopping on a Sunday morning very busy. The place is really a dive it looks like it had been there forever. We almost left because the air was very stale inside. We decided to try it since it was so crowded it had to... More

Went here for Father's day, hoping to have some good southern food. Staff was good an atmosphere was okay but the food was not outstanding. Just middle of the road, same old stuff that you can pick up anywhere. We had a large group of people and no one's food was outstanding including the crab cakes and chicken and waffles.

Being from the south, I was excited to get a taste of the South in CA. First off, they do not serve sweet tea....major fail for any restaurant that has Memphis in their name. The gumbo was not so good and the Po Boy just ok. (non of which are Memphis specials). Also very confusing. Maybe the name should be... More

My wife and I have been eating here for years and are never disappointed by the food or atmosphere. For lunch I like the Bison burger with gorgonzola and my wife sticks with one of the many salads. For dinner you cannot go wrong with the meatloaf. For a building that was originally a 50's bar with trapezoidal windows (think... More

Came here with a couple of friends from work after having a good day. My boss had been here before and was eager to get me to try it! The place is located on Bristol Street in Costa Mesa a little past the 55 Freeway as you're heading north. The bar/restaurant is right next to 'The Lab,' a small hipster... More

I came here on a business lunch with an associate from work. The food was fine although, interestingly, I can't recall what I had. The atmosphere was ... interesting. That adjective seems to be coming up in my review as I can't really think of a better way to describe the place. Other patrons were having a good time, there... More

The food is delish! Generous portions. You do get what you pay for, I would like to have had a smaller portion at a smaller price, it was more than I could finish. That said, I look forward to my next (3rd) visit!
