Love The Diner; Ruby is her Name

About 18 years ago I stumbled onto the Ruby's at the end of the pier at Seal Beach and loved it. And not being from around here, she remained ledged into a soft spot in my heart but I never got a chance to go back. Today, as I was walking around the behemoth known as South Coast Plaza, there... read more

First off, to set expectations, this is a diner. Nothing more, nothing less. The décor is strictly retro (50's) so expect linoleum, plastic, vinyl and black and white movies on the large screen TV. The food is diner level food. Fun, unpretentious and, yes, probably greasy. The shakes are great ... very unhealthy but really good once in a while... More

We have been going here for over 20 years. Great food and excellent shakes. I like that you can sit outside here. The location is great with parking right underneath the restaurant.

We were there around 11:30 on Saturday. Waited 15 minutes to be seated when 1/3 of the tables were empty. We saw our waiter twice. Once for our order, after we had been seated for another 10 minutes, and again to refill our water 10. Minutes after that. The food runners were very busy, but it took so long to... More

I have eaten at Ruby's Diner many times and they have good customer service and yummy food. It is a good family restaurant and is themed as a 1950s-era diner. They are located conveniently in South Coast Plaza's Crystal Cort shopping center

I hate when I visit a place and don't even remember anything about it, just regular service/food. My advice to Ruby's management is to come up with a niche, like a new Spicy burger patty inside a croissant, it might not be sold a lot, but it will be remembered :)

The type of service you expect from a Ruby's. We often went after going to the Apple Store which is in the same location. The people are friendly; clean environment. Love their shakes!

I love the retro design of Ruby's Diner. The staff is so cute in their uniforms. I looove the breakfast, but I've had burritos as well and they were cheap and tasty. The strawberry lemonade is lovely and has chunks of fresh strawberries. Ruby's is located in the smaller part of South Coast Plaza on the ground floor. The entrance... More

We used to really love this place, but the cheeseburgers have gone downhill. We used to order to go from here quite often, but they started using that fake, processed whilte cheese on our usual, the Mushroom Swiss (Turkey)Burger. We haven't eaten there since. I miss the shakes though. I love the Chocolate Banana shake or the Black Forest shake.... More
