An old favorite

Service was great, view very nice and food good - can't really go wrong with Il Fornaio. We had a 10 minute wait and the bartender was super friendly and went over all his favorite dishes. I liked that we could walk to the restaurant from our hotel.

I went to Il Fornaio with friends last night (on Coronado) and had one of the best evenings that I can remember. Georgio, the manager/owner (?) talked with my friends and then he explained the menu to us, with suggestions. To say that the night was extraordinary is an understatement. There is a regular ala carte menu and then there... More

When you walk in and see the awesome view of the bay, you know you are in for a treat! We each had the Sicilia tasting menu. The veal fettuccini was excellent and the lamb shank a must. Kids menus were great for the youngsters. And the heirloom tomato salad is definitely a taker (over the bean soap which was... More

we went to celebrate our anniversary. Its difficult to get seated at their main patio despite reservations but staff finally squeezed in a small table for us after considerable amount of wait. Since we were not terribly hungry, the wait was worth it. views are outstanding. Food is great and service was above average. Great place for a nice date... More

This restaurant has a great view of the bay and San Diego for you to enjoy while you eat your food. Although not every meal on the menu will be a favorite, there are certain meals that every person will be able to throughly enjoy. The pizzas are very good and the Penne a la Vodka is a nice pasta... The wood-fired pizzas were wonderful. Delicate crust and good size portions, fairly reasonable price for the ambiance and the area. The chicken was cooked perfectly, moist and tender. We had a great view of the water and the nighttime San Diego skyline. Bar service was also excellent.

The place has a great menu of everything from complete dinner to superb pizzas. Great wine list, good service with great views of the San Diego harbor.
