The high price is offset by the service

Lunch was great-chicken with pasta shells. Bread and olive oil very appetizing. View of San Diego bay was beautiful and blue skies. Highly recommend!

We always stop here for a late lunch when we have appointments in Coronado. Dinner is great too and the view is awesome either time.

A delicious dinner outside by the bar. Downtown San Diego across the bay and really cool lamps displaying flames shooting four feet high through a glass tube. Celebrated Ground Hog Day (also my birthday) outside under a beautiful moon. And lets not forget how good the food was and a nice bottle of wine.

We found Il Fornaio after a drink at Del Coronado. Very nicely situated it overlooks the bay and views of San Diego at night are great. I wanted a cappellini and so chose the first dish on the menu. The pasta was not al Dante and the sauce was real weak and pale. We had started with cappacio and that... More

I had the salmon salad and so did my friend. It was a generous size. I asked mine to be made with arugula but it was over dressed. The salmon was slightly overdone and bland. They served it with cold bread and vinegar and oil. I prefer they separate them, especially whey they put too much vinegar. So it was... More

We were here for brunch on a lazy Sunday morning and had a great time over some great eggs Benedict over crab cakes and mimosas. We also tried the omelette with salmon and it was delicious. The portions are huge though so order carefully. This is the perfect place to have a relaxed day.

We tend to come to this restaurant every time we are in San Diego. Located on Coronado with a great view of the Harbor and City, the food is excellent. This time we tried their 3 course tasting menu -- it was outstanding! We also tried the white wine and red wine flights (samplers) and they nicely complemented our meals.... More

Imagine having a glass of wine, overlocking the bay, under San Diego sun, on top lunch o dinner is fine, pasta, nice bread, good salads, not overpriced. What else can you expect. Il Fornaio concept must be the best food chain in the US. Quality and good service.
