A great Italian food experience on Coronado. Go for the food, go for the service, especially John, who served up a wonderful time for our dinner. We shared their three course evening dinner, plus wine, of course. If in doubt, John's expertise helps in the course selection. Make sure you see the desert display, it will certainly wow your palate.... More

I met a local for dinner here. It was my 1st time there, always hearing of the good food and service but never feeling up for the drive (I stay at the opposite end of the island and rarely drive once here) or the expen$e. I had the heirloom tomato salad and the lasagna - both outstanding. My dinner partner... More

...along with your appetite! The view from the patio is one of the most spectacular in San Diego, but can be a little chilly outside, even on an August early evening. The menu has something for EVERYONE and the food is wonderfully fresh, as well as well prepared. The service is attentive and knowledgeable. Just an amazing evening with old... More

We enjoyed our meal at Il Fornaio! The menu is interesting, the food preparation was skillful and the service was thoughtful and efficient. Even though this is a large restaurant, I felt well cared for.

I have dined at Il Fornaio for years. It's the best "go to" place to take family and friends visiting San Diego, with its spectacular views across the harbor from Coronado Island to downtown San Diego. Usually the food is as spectacular as the views. Ask to be seated on the patio or at a window seat. This is a... More

My wife and I have visited Il Fornaio Italian Restaurant in Coronado, CA three times for lunch over the last few years. We own timeshare property in Carlsbad, 30 miles north of San Diego and drive down at least once during our vacation week. At Il Fornaio we always dine on the outdoor covered patio to take advantage of the... More

Classy Italian restaurant in stylish Coronado - but reasonable prices. Lovely food, in a nice ambience. And request a table on the covered (and heated) terrace, you get a panoramic view of San Diego harbour, where there is always something going on. Fantastic!

Spent an afternoon lunch on the restaurant's patio with new friends yesterday. Our four meals, two glasses of wine and two desserts came to over $105.00 with tip. My pollo Tuscano was dry and lacking seasoning and I found the roasted potatoes barly warm and again lacking flavor. My wife had the caprese salad, three halves of roma tomatoes stacked... More

We come here whenever we are in San Diego/Coronado. This time there were 4 of us, our server was outstanding. Reservations were for 6:30, we arrived a few minutes early, they took us right to our table outside. Great view of San Diego and of the military ships going in and out of the bay. Our server made some good... More
