Dinner with friends

Always think of this restaurant for out-of-town friends. Wonderful tables on the water with view if San Diego skyline. Food is nice Italian dishes but servings are large so I often get an appetizer for main entree. Really yummy desserts.

The only restaurant I've ever been to where we had to get up from the table and go to the bar to get our drinks because the waiter was nonexistent. Food came out sporadically, although was actually pretty good when it arrived. The bar tender was rude and surly and seemed inconvenienced by having to make drinks.

We enjoyed our dinner at Il Fornaio. The location is ideal, by the water. You can request to eat inside or outside. We chose outside with a beautiful view of San Diego Bay. Even though the restaurant is near a walking path by the bay, we still found our dinner to be very romantic. The food was very delicious and... More

Very much enjoyed our Sunday brunch. Great FIOS, warm service and an awesome bayside water view. From the soup to the dessert everything was exceptionally tasty! Also, very easy --- and free parking.

The house made pasta is amazing. The food was fantastic, we had 8 in our party and we all had different items from the menu. Everyone loved their meal. Great wine selection as well.

My husband and I came here for an anniversary dinner. We stayed on Coronado Island, so we were able to walk to the restaurant. We started with a bottle of red wine, which was suggested by our waiter, Ramon. It was reasonably priced and absolutely delicious! We were taking our time with bread and wine before ordering, and Ramon was... More

Everything about this restaurant was great. We were a large group with some children but our server was not fazed at all. The service was terrific, and the food outstanding in taste as well as presentation. The atmosphere was elegant as well as casual, and the view over the water was spectacular. Would recommend to couples as well as families.... More

We drive down from Rancho Bernardo to get here. Well worth the mileage! We've never had a disappointing experience here. Prefer outside dining because the bay's a real treat! Lots of boat activity, from harbor tours to Navy Seal activity, ships, paddle board beginners, jet skis, tug boats, off-shore boats, you name it! The quality of the food and the... More

One of our favorites in Coronado! Staff is very friendly, great service, and even went above and beyond. Forgot our bike lock and they found us a safe place for our bikes while we had our lunch. Big thanks to Laurie!

The Il Fornaio I am writing about today is located in Coronado. I've been going to this restaurant for the last 10 years. Each time I go, the quality of the food is not the same and the quantity seems to disappear. They serve it on a huge plate to make it look like it is a lot. I ordered... More
