Loved the "malt shop" feel to this restaurant. It's a little tight on room, but the vibe made it all worth it. Old tabletop juke boxes in the booths. I had the veggie scramble and coffee...tasty. Attentive, friendly service. We were definitely not left wanting anything. Nicely done. Definitely would go again.

We first went to Clayton's for breakfast. The portions were enormous and the food was delicious. We found it to be a little more pricey than we usually anticipate for breakfast. The place was adorable...a typical 1950's type restaurant with a counter surrounded by stools, booths along the sides and a mini-jukebox on each table. The décor was typical 50's... More

One of my favorite spots! I often take advantage of the window coffee shop to grab a delicious latte and donut, but they also have a great little diner style restaurant. If you are on coronado Island, stop by for a visit!

This small diner nestled in a corner of the Orange Avenue retail strip, close to the Del Coronado, delivered a very good and very ample breakfast. From what I heard while there, much of the staff has been there quite a while. Attentive but not overly so. The centerpiece is an island counter. There are a handful of tables along... More

The cafe is completely non compliant as far as disabled guests are concerned. A wheel chair would never fit at any of the tables, could not wheel down any of the isles, nor wheel within the restrooms. This cafe would be a great place for a good ADA attorney to visit. SHAME on the owners of Clayton's Cafe. ADA has... More

Clayton's is an institution in Coronado. They serve good food and have good variety, including Mexican cuisine offerings. Prices are fair for what you get. Service is generally good.

This place consistently has a wait, which is what enticed us. We have visited Coronado a few times and decided to have breakfast here this week. Our wait (for 4) was not long (10 minutes) and we were seated at one of the few booths available. Sitting at the counter wouldn't have been a bad thing though, as the nostalgic... More

Recommenended by the local hotel along with another coffee shop across the road. We walked past that one after seeing how dead it was and crossed the road to Clayton's where it was packed....always a good sign. Big portions, large menu. 50's style with cool jukebox on tables and the bar (seats open up quite quickly there). Amazing value. We... More

I like Clayton's. It's a holdover from the old Coronado. I like a bit of history in a place. That said, this place is mixed. For breakfast, it's great. The usual fare and then some. I like the hot sausage patty that makes my head feel like it's on fire. For other meals, the food is mixed. Sometimes it is... More
