A Great local Experience

While in Coronado don't forget to visit this place to enjoy a good coffee, a great breakfast and a huge burrito. A local staple, this place is more than food, it is an experience.

We love visiting Clayton's for breakfast when we are in Coronado. Luckily for us we are on Illinois time, so we get up before the crowd gathers. We have had breakfast sandwiches, omelets, oatmeal, breakfast breads and just plain old bacon & eggs and everything is delicious. This place has a funky, retro 50's vibe with mini juke boxes at... This became my got to place to eat whilst in Coronado for a week. The food is proper American diner food and the service and decor go with it. Be aware it gets really busy so you may have to stand in line. It"s worth it.

The place to go in Coronado for breakfast. I had the omelet and was good to go for the day. They have very cute aprons for sale.

Came here for breakfast. Whenever we travel we love to eat at diners for that hearty breakfast. This joint is a blast from the past complete with disco jukeboxes and tin ceiling tiles. Service was good and the food was great (french toast and pork/eggs). It was a decent amount of food for the price. The only issue I got... More

This place serves hometown southern cooking. It was very good. Just about anything you could want, they can serve it. After breakfast, my husband had to have a piece of their apple pie. It was very good and was loaded with apples. We would definitely go back.

Visited here due to the great reviews here on Tripadvisor, but were sadly disappointed in our dining experience. Food was bland, ongoing effort was required to get any service, and the nostalgic decor was nothing exciting. I was eager to dine hear after reading many lovely reviews, but sadly wouldn't go back again.

We lucked out and got a booth. Fantastic service and the best breakfast I've ever had. Wonderful old school atmosphere and overall excellent experience.

My family had a Sunday morning breakfast and Clayton's. It was fun to sit at the counter and the food was delicious. The 50s decor is adorable.

We ate there for lunch and dinner. Very large portions. Very good home cooked meals. Great desserts. Quick and friendly service.
