One of the Reasons We Love Coronado

Clayton's is just another reason to love Coronado. They serve delicious comfort food, and I've never been disappointed. I've had the pancake breakfast, which was huge, as well as the biscuits and gravy breakfast. My wife always gets an omelet. We often have leftovers because the portions are so... read more

Maybe it's because we are real diner aficionados or maybe we just hit a bad day at Clayton's but we found the place just ok. It's old timey for sure and busy as the dickens but coffee lukewarm and breakfast just okay-- nothing special. It has the advantage of being open early and having a big menu but next time... More

Decided to venture outside the hotel for breakfast and found this breakfast spot. I was quickly seats around the U shaped breakfast bar. Provided with a thick menu with lots of superb choices. Decided on standard fare - eggs, hash browns, toast and bacon. Served in about 10 minutes and viewed all around me things like Texas Toast with confectionary... More

You know it has to be good when there's a line outside! The Coffee Shop was recommended by the hotel staff and it did not disappoint. The waitresses were friendly, efficient and constantly refilling. It's a very old fashioned "diner" atmosphere with counter seating and booths. We went back a second time and it was just as good.

We stopped for lunch and the restaurant was packed. Luckily we found two seats at the lunch counter. The place is small and the seats at the counter are close together, had an elbow in my space as the person next to me ate. My wife had the coronado Cuban panini with coleslaw. It wasn't a panini it was more... More

The waitress I started with was unfriendly, the person serving coffee, very congenial. I found the food not to my liking, jalapenos had no flavor, sauce on burger, not good mix with toppings. Will not go back, it might be worth a try for others.

Clayton's Coffee Shop seems to be an icon at the corner of Orange and 10th. The small spot has a u-shaped counter reminiscent of a '50's diner with a few benches. The process is a) put your name on the wait list, b) pick counter or booth and c) order from an extensive menu. Service is quick and the food... More

I loved this little spot. We sat at the counter and had one of the best breakfasts of my long lifetime! Loved the people there, all very casual. The grilled cheese sandwiches look amaaaazing and will be experienced first hand on my next visit!

We had just gotten to Coronado and had a limited amount of time for dinner. We had heard of Clayton's before but had not eaten there. The experience was what we had been described to us. It looks like a throw-back diner out of the 50s and they offered a wide selection of diner type comfort food. We decided to... More
