We have lived in Coronado for 20 years. Went to Clayton's under OLD ownership, not impressed. Kept hearing rave reviews for the NEW Claytons, and the lines out the door seemed to indicate it was worth trying -- NOT! Walked in for breakfast on a week day morning. The place was not overly crowded. We were a party of 6... More

Had breakfast at the counter...coffee and great company! Very traditional and vintage. They serve coffee in the old time coffee cups. The service was good and the biscuits and gravy were excellent....tasty with HUGE chunks of sausage. There is always a brief wait....but its worth it!

We are from Australia and diners like these are the ones you only see on TV. Clayton's not only offers the old setting but the old fashioned service to match it. We had the apple pie for dessert which they make onsite and it was delicious. Best coffee in Coronado too!

we're walking in Coronado and need a place for lunch..Claytons looks cute with its red leather bar stools and 50s vibe. The daily combo is the soup of the day and 1/2 a turkey sandwich. We ask if it's real Turkey or deli and the helpful waitress says you can do either. I order the Cobb salad with real Turkey... More

I was there on a Saturday morning. After reading reviews I thought I should give it a visit. While the food was very good, the young girls who serve and host are distracted, and don't check on the clients enough. My food and drink were waiting on the back counter until I had to point it to them that it... More

GREAT fun place for breakfast! A throwback in time. They have a walk up side window that has excellent soft serve cones dipped in chocolate. YUM!!

As I walked into the the coffee shop, I felt like I walked back into time. The shop was just charming. We only had a coffee and homemade cinnamon roll. But it was delicious. I want to come back for a meal the next time we visit

Very quant and rustic..CLEAN! The food is just as good as the service..FANTASTIC! We went for breakfast and sat at the counter... Our waitress was on the ball. Food was fresh and hot. She kept our coffee and water filled and checked on us often. Loved it and highly recommend.

Went here for breakfast based on all the great reviews and a past experience many years ago. The place was very hot and humid from the kitchen with windows and door open. Lots of flies all over. Had to leave before ordering because of the uncomfortable atmosphere. Not like we remembered. Went across the street to Panera Bread and had... More

Really cute place with great food! Seven of us stopped in to grab a bite. Not aware of our food choices we almost ate at Panera Bread, across the street, when I happened to notice this little gem. Most of us were in the mood for a juice burger, fries & a shake so this fit the bill. Not having... More
