Good Coffee and Cake

We spotted the Tartine whilst sight seeing on Coronado. It's a great place to hang out and have a coffee. A good range of snacks and light meals are available and we were amazed at the price.

Diners of all sizes (people and doggies) can enjoy this slow paced, laid back atmosphere. The Curried Chicken Salad was outrageously good. Curry can be tricky, but the chef flavored the chicken just right. Expect the service to be pleasant without any sense of urgency. Sit back, relax and be in Coronado!

Their excuse for service is terrible. The staff has a very arrogant, better than everyone attitude. There is no urgency to take care of their customers, let alone be nice to them. The food is very good, but next time, it will be to go.

A nice selection for both lunch and dinner. Cheesecake is a special at the restaurant. Outside dining is available.

While we only had one meal here, it was lovely, fresh and well-prepared. I had the spinach quiche and it was done to perfection with a tender crust and a rich custardy filling. Partner had the grilled veggie sandwich, and he agreed his was well done also. We only had room for one dessert--a coconut macaroon--done to perfection. I'd go... More

You will be glad that you did. My wife and I were exploring some neighborhoods (while staying at the Marriott) and stumbled onto this bistro. We stopped for dessert, espesso, and wine and stayed to order a light dinner. Nice patio, great dessert choices, and interesting menu. I'd go back in a heartbeat.

I had curried butternut squash soup and the spinach salad with pecans and goat cheese. Every morsel was fresh (rarely the case with a salad). The soup was outstanding and the French bread served in the side was perfect. I highly recommend this little cafe. They obviously take great pride in what they serve.

We purchased a dessert a year ago here during our stay in Coronado. This year for my fiance's (now husband's) birthday we returned for an AMAZING egg nog cheesecake! It was enjoyed by everyone at dinner. We went back the following day for a treat, and he had a Linzer cookie while I enjoyed the chocolate loaf (pictures to be... More

So I have tried Tartine on several occasions, always swearing to never return. The food, I must say is very tempting and tasty, so are the desserts, but what kills me is the horrible service I ALWAYS get there. The waiters are too busy to bother smiling while time just passes without any notion you are waiting for them. When... More

We only had dessert at Tartine's but it was scumptious! I had the chocolate mousse and it was to die for. I can't remember what my husband had but we both enjoyed our desserts, coffee and hot chocolate immensely. It wasn't cheap but the service was excellent, our desserts were presented beautifully and were mouth-watering. Definitely worth stopping by.
