Our new San Diego home is located in the Carez Hizar House (circa 1889), a Coronado historical landmark on Loma Avenue almost at the corner of Orange Avenue. We are within walking distance to beautiful downtown Coronado, the Hotel Del Coronado, and the beach. My wife and I ate at Chez Loma during a recent visit to Coronado Island. The service was excellent and the food was delicious. We had escargot, duck, and sea bass. All were perfectly prepared. The prices were very reasonable for the island and coupled with the excellent food and service, Chez Loma is probably the best value on Coronado.... More

Located in walking distance to the Hotel del Coronado and the beach, Chez Loma offers traditional cooking with the freshest local ingredients. Food is very good, meat is amazing. Great wines helpful and very friendly staff, elegant ambiance and cozy atmosphere.

Brunch selections at this very pretty, bright and sunny bistro make for a delightful weekend treat here in the heart of Coronado. My eggs benedict with smoked salmon was delicious. Make sure to ask for a side order of their french fries which are very thin sliced, crisp and seasoned. While the entree selection is small, all of the offerings... More

Fine food experience in classic setting. The service was excellent. The choices were great but avoid the french onion soup--very little flavor.

We have been coming to Coronado for over ten years and have literally eaten at every restaurant. I ate at Chez Loma approximately 5 years ago and thought that they did a good job with food and service. Apparently they have changed owners and chefs since my last visit. The Sea Bass dish was one of the best fish dishes... More

Wonderful dinner punctuated by good food and great service provided by our waitress, Sabrina. The enjoyed the escagot, lobster bisque, beet salad, chilean sea bass, pork cheeks, and the gingerbread. The restaurant in a charming old house.

We had a really nice meal, excellent service. The escargot was outstanding! My husband had the Duck with cherry glaze and I had the Beef Bourguignon. The Duck cherry glaze had great flavor, but the Bourguignon tasted diluted and the gravy wasn't as rich as other places I've ordered it. Overall a good meal, reasonably priced.

While visiting with some family, two family members saw this place on a walk through the area. We made reservations that afternoon and came in to a charming house where the restaurant is located. This is a good place for a date as the ambiance is nice and not crowded. The menu is what you'd expect from a French restaurant... More
