Our new San Diego home is located in the Carez Hizar House (circa 1889), a Coronado historical landmark on Loma Avenue almost at the corner of Orange Avenue. We are within walking distance to beautiful downtown Coronado, the Hotel Del Coronado, and the beach. A French inspired bistro where people feel comfortable and enjoy fresh rustic fare at reasonable prices. Sourcing locally to achieve maximum freshness and offering our customers what they want instead of following culinary trends. If your desire is a casual tapa at the bar or a dinner with friends or colleges, Chez Loma under new management, offers an inviting space to relax, enjoy and socialize.

More romatic and intimate than most in 'Nado

Charming old house, good food, service that tries hard to please, moderately priced, next to central business area. Overall, we were pleased with the experience. First - we had dinner here once before and it was a good experience, but its how a restaurant handles things when it go the other way is often more telling. I am not sure what to make of this but we had reservations, waited 30 minutes for the table, and then got placed upstairs. There was a huge party... More

The eggs Benedict was simple but on point. The croque Monsieur was decadent and delicious. Chez loma has a romantic French country feel. It is although you're dining in someone's dining room. The service was great but the meals are prepared to order so relax and enjoy the peaceful ambiance.

The service was EXCELLENT, however the cooks were shouting in the kitchen in Spanish, the the sous chef was standing in front of the reception desk talking on his cell phone and he was dressed very sloppy. The acoustical tiles on the ceiling look terrible, the french CD playing throughout the restaurant was out dated and too loud. My duck... More

Charming. Onion soup, Caesar salad, beef Bourgogne excellent. Duck breast was perhaps best ever for me. Nice wine list, very friendly and attentive service.

My husband and I visited this lovely restaurant in April. I cannot recommend it enough. Of the French style in a character wooden framed house ambience. Beautiful table linen and fab food. Go on a Wednesday for half price wine and enjoy the magnificent food. I would recommend the duck or salmon, both excellent and the creme brûlée was very... More

The good: The food was so delicious and wonderful. I had the duck and my boyfriend had the rib eye. Although I love duck, his entree won. It was the best rib eye I've ever tasted! Tender, juicy, and full of flavor. The bad: We waited about 30 minutes for our entree. Everybody seemed to be standing around, moving slowly...... More

Nice fennel flavoured Bouillabaisse. Good Point Reyes cheese. Beet salad was average. Pleasant ambience and relaxed atmosphere. The waiter gave us an excellent brief history of Coronado as he had lived there all his life, born to a naval family.
