I have been going to McP's since I first got orders to San Diego in 1987. Casual dining and a good selection of ales, stouts and ciders. as for the menu, they're famous for their fries and gravy. McP’s Irish Pub is a very popular bar and casual restaurant on the main drag in Coronado. McP's is a bar and grill in Coronado, California, located a couple of blocks from the Hotel Del Coronado. It is a local hang-out and you are guaranteed to see tables full of Navy boys on their night off, drinking beer and having a good time. Its a pub, what can you expect. Usually filled with tourists or Navy Seals. Good burgers and fries. Good selection of beers. more

We have had dinner at McP's twice. The patio is very casual and a great atmosphere. We were traveling with our dog and they welcome well behaved dogs on the patio. While we were dining, there were a couple other dogs there which caused no problems for the rest of the diners. The food is average bar food - nothing... more

Coronado has a very rich military culture which continues with the Naval base on the Island. No place on the island celebrates their military history more that McP's The owner is a former Navy Seal himself and the walls are covered in artifacts from his two tours in Vietnam as well as numerous collectibles since then. We just returned from our fall vacation on Coronado Island. I read in my research that this was the best bar on Coronado Island and it was right!! Great place with something for everyone. Very family friendly, but also great for singles. The patio was relaxing and fun. How can you beat live music while enjoying good food and drink with friendly people? Convenient location, close to Hotel Del. more
