Bruch at the Del

My wife brought me to the Del "Crown Room" for brunch a couple of years ago, if not for my BD we would not have gone, but she found a BOGO and we were off for brunch. If I had realized what that entailed, I would not have eaten for three days before - There was more of everything than... read more

I asked to go to The Hotel Del as despite the outrageous prices, I do love the area and food. It was Mother's Day and yes, the service was terrible last time, but maybe we just had a poor waitress. We arrived to find our Brunch wasn't in the Crown Room, but the Ballroom which was okay, but they immediately... More

This has got to be the most varied and sumptuos spread I have ever seen! It was also the most expensive, but it is worth the price. The food is delicious. You have a dessert table, seafood table, breakfast table, meat table, and so on. It was hard to decide among a huge ham, roastbeef, and a lambshank, for example.... More

What expensive hotel does not have enough staff to answer the phone at the front desk OR the restaurant??? On a MONDAY??? WOW. I might have been less disappointed on a Friday or Saturday, or even during the summer or ??. But mid-winter, during the week. Had to try to "check-in twice" and then no answer at any location for... We ate at the patio dining area rather than the dining room inside. The weather was gorgeous, service fantastic, the ocean lapping up almost at our feet and my seafood plate wonderful. I eat here every time I come to San Diego and am never disappointed.

Brought here by friend who lives in La Jolla. What a treat! Beautiful location & the food was delicious & very, very plentiful! Great range of choices - fantastic for our coeliac diner.

The food and the service are great. The price is high and probably worth the experience, especially a special event.

I've been going to Hotel Del for many years & despite the ever increasing cost its a pleasure to visit. Staff friendly & food quality above average with prices almost double other similar establishments BUT they are not the "Del" ... U pay for what U get I guess it's just a pity U have to pay so much here.... More

How lucky we are to be able to sit and dine in this historic gem in 2015. Most vintage hotels that had this beachfront location were doomed to the wrecking ball long ago. We dined here with a large business function and the food was very good. I have attached a photo. From the crown chandeliers to the famous ceiling,... More

We had drinks on the patio prior to going to the restaurant and they served food on the patio. We went to the restaurant and found that the same cheeseburger that they were serving on the patio for $16.00 was $27.00 in the restaurant. The food was good but rather high priced and our waiter didn't pay much attention to... More
