Based on reviews, I was looking forward to treating myself to a nice Italian meal. However, the calamari was overbreaded and not seasoned well (hard to really taste any actual calamari). The linguine with shrimp ($16) was served in a small bowl, and was so bland as to almost pass as school cafeteria fare. (No hint of olive oil, garlic,... More

Just a few blocks away from the busy ferry landing on the bay side of Coronado, you can find this great and very reasonable restaurant. Their menu (while a little limited) offered selections for everyone in the family and was augmented by a fix price (3) course menu (which was very reasonable). The owner was very accommodating and was willing... More

This is a small restaurant located between 1st and 2nd streets on Orange Ave. (the main street in Coronado). What a charming, wonderful restaurant with great food at good prices. We had the fixed price dinner special and it was great! Prices for menu items seemed very reasonable. Not a large menu - but a great selection of things to... More

Sapori is a restaurant beautifully decorated with friendly staff and delicious food in a nice area. Even though they have a small menu the server offer to make whatever we wanted; "I have ingredients" were his words with an Italian accent, and so we order away. Chicken Milanese and chicken alfredo were made by request and both were of superb.... More

This restaurant is several blocks from the busy Ferry Landing area of restaurants and shops. The short walk is worth it. I had the $6 lunch special and it was excellent. Where can you find a tasty lunch for $6 in Southern California ? My dining companion was very pleased as well. Great service. This restaurant is a gem.

We returned to this delightful Italian restaurant on a recent trip to Coronado, after a year from our last visit, and were unchanged in our opinion. It is a great restaurant! The singing waiter is no longer there but the excellent food and wine selections still are. We were with friends and shared two appetizers. The first was zucchini blossoms... More

This is a gem. You are never rushed, and the food is wonderful. You feel as if you are in Italy. If you are the impatient type, pass it by. It is to be enjoyed in a relaxed manner!

Coronado is a typical touristy-beach town, especially in the summer, but we do have our wonderful "hidden" restaurant gems. Sapori in the 100 block of Orange is my favorite "go-to" restaurant when I want a delicious dinner, reasonably priced wine, and most of all, a cozy, welcoming environment away from the "madding crowds". It's a small restaurant with outdoor seating... More

A delightful dinner in the modernistic setting of Sapori was a wonderful respite to a busy week. We started with excellent Italian wine, fairly priced, and then dove into a plate of Frito Misto with shrimp and calamari lightly battered and perfectly prepared accompanied by arugula to cleanse your taste buds and add its peppery flavors. Then it was on... More

A delightful neighborhood gem. We shared the antipasti, a small salad and chicken piccata and left full and happy. Nice Italian wine list.
