Great Food But Allow Plenty of Time!

Hands down, this is a great place to get a truly delicious breakfast. Many unique items on the menu and all the essentials done well (i.e-coffee, fresh juices, etc.). The Bistro is the best kept secret in Coronado. We ate several meals here during our 8 day stay and we cleaned our plates each meal. Good value too!

Stopped in for Breakfast on December 31. We had about a 15 minute wait, but it was well worth it. My wife and I both had eggs benedict, which were cooked to perfection. The service was friendly and attentive. If you try this neighborhood gem, you have to have some of their home-made jam... it is probably the best we've... More

We have lived in Coronado for 20 years and finally made it here for breakfast. There was a wait of about 20 minutes even with a reservation but it was worth it. Great food. Everyone was pleased with their meals which were generous and very tasty.

Breakfast food was very good, but you have to like VERY sweet french toast type entries, or eggs cooked with some sort of fishy tasting accent. We ate here early in a two week trip to Coronado and did not return -- the food was very good, just not what we typically go for.

We decided to have breakfast outside of our hotel (Hotel del Coronado). This was highly recommended (at least for breakfast) on tripadvisor. It was about 10 minutes drive from our hotel. I had the rancho huveors and a side of hash brown. The rancho huveros was very delicious; the jalapeno sauce offered a nice kick. My friend had the chorizo... More

Sadly, this place was a big disappointment, after the glowing recommendations. First course - portobello mushroom soup - not bad but too much salt. Salad with pears and gorgonzola - ruined by the sugary walnuts, and the not so great sauce. Shrimps wrapped in bacon - also not a success. The lamb shank - my husband felt it was reheated,... More

We wanted to get away from the standard hotel breakfast fare at the Marriott and one of the locals we met suggested this...literally...hole in the wall place on Orange and 5th. In reality it is the restaurant attached to a very clean and small class c looking motel. Pretty standard breakfast menu but the chef was willing to make changes...good... More

the wait was long, the dining room was hot with no view, except mirrors, & small. Who wants to look at themselves in a mirror, except perhaps a teen-ager? The food was nothing special. the price was too high for what you get. if each meal was 1/2 the price, it might have been acceptable. I'd recommend to the Hotel... More

We have stayed here twice for the Coronado Speed Festival and have loved it both times. The rooms are clean and comfortable, the staff is friendly & helpful and the bistro food is excellent. The cookies in the lobby are delicious! I would highly recommend this establishment to anyone looking for an affordable, quality stay on Coronado Island.
