Awesome View Of San Diego

Candelas has an incredible view of the San Diego skyline both during the day and at night. It is bay front at the Ferry Landing with an up-scale menu with good wine and beer selections.

Cute place with views to San Diego downtown. Food not very good. We order ceviche wish was very salty, Sea food tacos with cold tortillas, with more of veggies than seafood. Camarones a la diabla with more cheese than camarones. Service not good.

Very disappointing, it took us a long time to get waited on and there was hardly anyone in the restaurant. The food choices were very average. We decided to order a beer, ate the chips and salsa and left. I doubt if we would return.

A guy's weekend to San Diego. We went to Coronado Island to check out the beach and have a few drinks (we also rented some bikes to get around (highly recommend that since the weather is basically always nice). We sat at the bar around Noon on a Saturday. The place was surprisingly empty, and we talked to the bartender... More

Not only do they have great food and excellent service, the view is one of the best in San Diego. The patio is surrounded by glass, so it blocks the breeze.

Basically you are paying for the view here. Most meals were $25 which I think is kind of pricey for basic Mexican food. We ate here one night and it was pretty good. We had the 3 tacos which were a special for $8 or $9. Then we ate there a second night. There was one server and the service... More

Arrived via ferry to the shopping village - we were running a little late and some of the shops had shut down for the night. We chose Candelas for dinner. The food was perfectly prepared and authentic - I highly recommend Pollo al Chipolte - the chicken was so tender it melted in my mouth. My friend had the steak... More

Not sure what made the Matre d think he could speak rudely to guests at all let along when they first arrive. We walked out before even sitting down. Go to Peohe's much better! Excellent service!

The setting is beautiful and the Mexican food was delicious and authentic. My husband has travelled the world trying Chicken Mole and claimed this was one of the best he has had! He is a difficult person to please. The servers were very friendly and all in all it was a great meal.

Traveled from East coast to West to visiting family in CA when we ate at "Candelas on the Bay". We experienced true Mexico City food in what was termed "modern Mexico fusion". A new experience was the octopus appetizer. Very fresh and tasty, reminded me of the local conch dishes in the Bahamas islands. The Pacific salmon was fantastic! My... More
