Website states they don't take reservations but spoke to someone to reserve for party of 28 about three weeks ahead of time. They confirmed the reservation since we were a big party. When we got there, tables were not ready. They scrambled to put several tables together with a great view of the bay. Ceviche was ok, guacamole was tasty,... More

The beautiful location and view were no surprise. But we had not visited Candelas since it opened; we had tried two meals there and were very disappointed. I am glad we went back. We went for the all day happy hour in the bar area, happy to be inside because it was so hot. The red sangria was good, the... More

I joined a friend in from Chicago for dinner on Coronado Island attending a conference and wanted to entertain her with a San Diego skyline view from the water. We got just that at Candelas . We chose to dine inside and had a table with a fabulous window view to watch to sun set on the skyline . The... More

After poo pooing Peohe's after a previous visit to Coronado, we decided to try Candela’s. We were greeted right away, friendly hostess and were seated immediately on the patio. We had view of Hyatt towers across the bay. Service was prompt, attentive, responsive – all that you would expect. We shared nachos and enchilada’s which were good but nothing special.... More

Slow service, mediocre food and unattractive design overtake the great view and location. This pace feels like a bar.

We chose this wonderful restaurant to host our son and daughter in law's wedding party dinner without ever being there before. Kim Maniero was our hostess and main point of contact and her service, pleasant personality {She's a "Jersey Girl "} and attention to every detail were spot on and greatly appreciated. When we arrived, the restaurant staff was prepared... More

This restaurant was highly recommended to us by the concierge of Loews and friends who live in SD. We booked for a special family get together (12 of us) and we were all hugely disappointed. The waitress was very grumpy, would take half the order walk off and come back 10 minutes later and take the rest. We had to... More

Visited here on Sunday afternoon. It was busy and parking was a bit of a challenge. However, the experience proved wonderful. The staff were excellent (even with it being busy), the food was delicious (enchilada suizas, fish tacos and carnitas nachos) and the views from the deck of the San Diego skyline (and the beach) were beautiful. I'd definitely return.

Incredible views of the San Diego Skyline with innovative cocktails and fabulous appetizers , Happy Hour 11 to 11 how cool is that. They've changed the menu to include delicious and creative traditional Mexican dishes with a large selection of seafood , chicken, and carne selections. You can't miss with Candelas on the Bay. Highly recommended!

Just had some light snacks here - quesadillas, chips and guacamole, and steak tacos. Everything was excellent.
