Established in 2002, Coronado's locally owned and family operated Village Pizzeria offers an authentic slice of New York City in the heart of beautiful Coronado, California. Using only the freshest ingredients, Village Pizzeria prides itself on going to great lengths to preserve the integrity of the iconic New York style pie, down to importing authentic New York water to replicate the perfect thin crust dough. Located just a block away from the Pacific Ocean, the restaurant's original Orange Avenue location provides cozy interior dining and ample outdoor seating, allowing guests to enjoy the coastal vibe of the area. Village Pizzeria's second location opened in 2007, just steps away from the bay, boasting a spacious event-ready patio perfect for any family gathering. With nearly 20 pizzas to choose from, Village Pizzeria also delivers a healthy, tailor-made spin on old-school New York pizzeria offerings. Touting four different crust options for each pizza-original NY-style crust, thin crust, Sicilian style, and gluten free-as well as a variety of specialty pizzas such as "The Billy Goat" a white pie with fresh spinach, roasted red peppers, onions, sun dried tomatoes, basil, balsamic vinaigrette and goat cheese, as well as "The Islander" with Canadian bacon, pineapple, onions and bell peppers. In addition, the restaurant's menu features a variety of made-to-order salads, pastas, calzones, hoagies and desserts.

We really enjoyed this place - super casual, great salad, pizza and beer. We stayed at the Hotel Del, but always preferred to walk down the street for a bite to eat - super close but way cheaper than eating at the hotel. Fun local place

We ate here for a late lunch one day. The pizzas were served straight out of the oven, piping hot. I had a gluten and dairy free pizza with veggie toppings. Delicious! The rest of the family split a normal pizza and inhaled it. There was shaded outside seating for us as we had our dog along. Would definitely return... More

My husband LOVES pizza and could eat it every week. He is always trying new places. After the first bite this became one of his favorites. The thin crust was crispy throughout, even as we continued to eat & the sausage & mushrooms covered the entire pizza. The server was so nice & made for a great experience. The second... More

This is a very casual Italian Food Cafe. It has red and white checkered plastic table clothes with indoor and sidewalk dining. It's within two blocks of Del Coronado Hotel, so if you stay there, talk a very short walk and save a lot of money for some really good food. The lasagna is very good and the serving size... More

Hi Greg, Thank you for dining with us and leaving us a 4 bubble review! I'm glad you enjoyed your pizza, but you are right that the ingredients should be closer the edge of the pizza. I will personally monitor how the thin crust pizzas are being made to ensure they are being made correctly. Thank you for your feedback,... More

On our way to Coronado beach decided to get some pizza at village pizzeria. We were very impressed with the flavor but more importantly the crust. The crust was crispy and not too thin and perfect for a plain pepperoni pizza. Overall we will be back when in Coronado!

Thank you for your wonderful review! The secret to our crust is real New York water. We have it shipped in from New York to create an authentic New York pizza. I'm glad you noticed the difference! Thanks again, Jim, General Manager More

We ordered Village Pizzeria online while staying at the Marriott Coronado Resort. The delivery was quick and the driver was very friendly. Our order came with supplies (we were concerned we were going to have to eat out of the pizza box or on paper napkins). They were thoughtful enough (without us requesting) to include: cups, forks, plates, napkins and... More

What a wonderful place. It's found right at the base where the Ferry from San Diego docks. There are many restaurants in the vicinity, but I'm glad we chose here to eat. We had an advantage in that my son & daughter in law live in San Diego and this is one of their favorite places. I know why now.... More
