Landmark

Five crowns has set the fine dining standard in OC for 50 years. Our family has been coming here that many years for special occasions. It is pricey yet fulfilling. Prime rib specialty is good ( I prefer Lawry's but barely)

Wonderful place for a small, intimate wedding. My son's wedding was beautiful; the food was delicious; staff was very helpful and friendly. Loved it!

This was our first visit to Five Crowns and was really a result of trying to take advantage of the Newport Beach Restaurant week specials in which Five Crowns was participating in. The ambiance is somewhat Olde English. My wife ordered the prime rib which came with creamed spinach, creamed corn and yorkshire pudding. The prime rib was just average. Not... More

Delicious and consistent experience. Melt in your mouth prime rib. Fresh crisp salads. A relaxing evening with enough ambiance to make the evening special. Well priced for the total package.

Nice ambiance. We started going here 50 years ago, when they first opened. Before we had any kids, we would sit around the fire in the evening and have an Irish coffee. Lately, since the cost of their food and wine have gone up considerably and you can only eat so much prime rib.. we seldom go there.

This restaurant has served the area reliably for many years. A faux British pub restaurant it has all the atmosphere you could ask for. Great bar. Reliable menu with special roast beef as mainstay for years. Often used for celebrations, its an upbeat classy place

Went for dinner with friends on our last visit to CA. The theme of the restaurant is old English, staff is very friendly and attentive, and they have a nice pub with a fireplace for drinks and snacks. The prime rib was tasty and nicely cooked to medium rare, ribeye tender, but the crab cakes needed less filling and more... More

In short the restaurant and associated bar was very good and I would have given the experience a 5 Star rating, HOWEVER - when my wife, my sister-in-law and I handed the car keys to the restaurant's valet attendant I had a very nice top of the line Garmin Nuvi GPS in a case in the car and when I... We enjoyed our company Christmas dinner on the 27th. As the host, I looked forward to not worrying about many things. The food Was mostly excellent although my prime rib was pretty tiny. The Server, upstairs, was pretty good and we all enjoyed the carolers.

Food was good, not great. Server disappeared for extended periods frequently. For price I expected seamless service, so I was disappointed. Restaurant was beautifully decorated for the holidays and carolers added charm, but the ambiance didn't make up for tepid service.
