Five Crowns is a classic place. Set in a "French Farmhouse" sort of building; the waitresses wear "period costume". The food is consistently good meat and potatoes style with some extra flair. Comfortable, homey, consistent, a cut above.

Part of the Lawry's family so its hard to go wrong by picking this place for your dinner destination. If you don't feel like spending a lot, you can just go to the bar next door and have a good time. I must admit, being in my late 30's I felt pretty young in this place compared to the other... More

5 Crowns still has ambiance, but the Pride of the Crowns salad isn't as good and the food doesn't seem as fresh. We still patronize it because of the cozy feel.

If you are a beef person this is a great place. We didnt know it was part of Lawry's so we were nicely surprised to find Prime Rib worth eating. It is for an older crowd, and the service cateres to older people, but the food is very good and worth battling Corona Del Mar summer traffic! Large parking lot... More

BROWN ON THE OUTSIDE, PINK IN THE INSIDE, JUICY, SUPER SOFT AND TENDER, IT MELTS IN YOUR MOUTH!!! Five Crowns' prime rib that is. It is way better than Fleming's Sunday prime rib! Their service is also unmatched. But even better, their prices are far more reasonable than Fleming's, Ruth's Chris, or Morton's! There's more, their beautiful dining area with... More

My husband used to come here when he was a child so we went recently while on vacation in Newport. It was so delicious and beautifully lit at night. We loved the decor and the outdoor seating was so cozy and lovely. My husband got the prime rib (like butter it was so tender!) and I got a wedge salad... More

My wife and I had been going to Five Crowns since we got engaged 12 years ago. We were going every year, on our anniversary, as a tradition. 2 1/2 years ago, late Nov 2011, we arrived and were told the menu had changed to be more "Napa" like. The Fillets were good but not great, service was horrible and... More

This restaurant never fails to deliver - year after year the staff remains excellent and the food is always dependable - new additions help the menu but the mainstays are what keeps us coming back

Five Crowns is a very good fine dining restaurant but falls a little short from offering an excellent fine dining experience. The prime rib was very good but the mash potatoes were only warm, not hot, and the gravy was almost without flavor. Service was very good but again was slightly less than extraordinary. Ambiance would have been improved with... More

I have been going to this restaurant since I was a small child. I've always loved it and there are many wonderful memories associated with this restaurant. My husband and I really enjoy the atmosphere and the food. This restaurant is owned by Lawreys. They are famous for prime rib, & creamed corn. That is want we ordered and it... More
