Having never been here before I was a bit reluctant based on the age of the place and how it caters to large groups and banquets. However I was pleasantly surprised on how good my steak was. You get a side of pasta with your entree along with vegetable and some type of potato. The meat was very good, cooked... More

I came here for a business lunch with a client who knew it. Bit of a strange location - an island in industrial area though not far as the crow flies from the Citadel Outlets. There's obviously a large evening dance clientele ( that's of flyers for that inside the lobby - hey they have to build their business however... More

I have wanted to try these classes after a friend I saw salsa dance. She told me she took the classes here and it was for a bit and she learned to dance and she is like a professional, in my opinion. The classes seemed hard because I started in the boot camp Sunday and its very overwelming if you... More

I didn't go to Steven's for the food. I went for the salsa dancing. The building is very old school, but it has charm. There is a dance floor on either side of the restaurant. Steven's is the go-to spot for salsa and bachata in East L.A. They have dance socials every night, but Sundays and Wednesdays are the really... More

I remember dining here 20 years ago and thought the food was quite good. We recently returned for lunch. The place looked the same as it did in the 1990's so it is in serious need of upgrades. We were seated right away and our server was very friendly. I chose the ribs from the lunch menu and my wife... More

If you're looking for a little blast from the past, then give Steven's a try. As soon as you walk in, the atmosphere and service take you back to a classier and more civilized time. The host was polite in the extreme, efficient in his attention. I can't remember the last time a host or hostess pulled out a table... More

NOTHING and I mean, NOTHING, beats a throwback steakhouse. Like the Top in Columbus, Stevens is a classic where any minute you expect the Rat Pack to come out and there should be smoke lingering in the air. The service is that same old style, abrupt, not ready to answer questions but quick and perfunctory, a lot like Peter Luger's.... More

It really is a shame. We wanted to have a great time, and in reality, the food was pretty (we will get to that later). The place was packed, and even with reservations, we had to wait a bit. They have live music that night (maybe every night) and we were given the choice of sitting near the salsa band... More

The experience was very good. The service was very good. The bread, complimentary pasta, veggies and the mahi-mahi was very good with the veracruz sauce. The "world famous french onion soup" was good, but to me not noteworthy of the claim.... Overall very pleased with the visit.

We went while staying in Commerce and went to this restaurant based on the review. I agree with all the positive comments and would highly recommend this restaurant. I had the scallops and they were simply delicious. I was concerned ordering seafood in a steak house but they were better then what I have had in most seafood restaurants. The... More
