The Back Abby has been put together with someone paying attention to the small stuff. Great burger, descent fries, and plenty of taps to satisfy any beer drinker. Most of us had the "Back Abby burger" and left full and happy. We were there on a sat night. The wait staff was stretched a little thin but still gave descent... More

Excellent Belgian beer list and a nice supply of suitable glasses for whatever you order. Menu also not too bad and food came out very good (although I feel like they could cut their cheese/meatplate/breads) up and make it easier to share with people. On the downside our server was generally inattentive and always seemed like she was in a... More

Not only the Back Abbey's famous Pomme Frites and succulent salads, but beer for those wheat-allergic amongst us. All you need to do is Ask.

Read such glowing reviews and the number one rating...This was the first restaurant we visited in Claremont. We were one of the few customers there for an early weekday lunch. The waiter was polite and service quick. The menu offerings limited, but we were there for great burgers. We ordered a speciality of the day and backyard burger, both medium.... More

Love this place. Great food quality, great burgers, world class fries, tasty mussels, everything I have tried has been excellent. The ingredients are first class, even their breads are wonderful. One of the best selections of beer I have ever seen, Belgian ales are well represented, as well as other gems. Truly outstanding in both food and drink departments. The... More

The Back Abbey is a favorite for both native Claremonters and visitors. I strongly recommend it--especially the mussels. It's not cheap, though.

Since it opened, this has been my favorite Claremont restaurant. The food is fabulous--which has an expanded menu since it first opened--and the service outstanding. While it may be sometimes too noisy and too crowded on weekend nights inside, try the outside area.

The Back Abby is a real gem. Probably the best overall in Claremont. The Duck Fat Fries are worth the premium price. Be advised chef does not permit substitutions. The dishes change a bit with seasons are well constructed and of great value. Beer selection is passable for a small pub. Outdoor dinning is very pleasant.

Whenever we are craving a really decadent burger and fries we go to Back Abbey. The place can get crowded and there is no place to put your name. We usually go at off times so we don't have to wait. They have a wonderful selection of beers as well.

I love this place, but have gone less lately just because the wait is too long unless you time it just right or you go at off hours, and there are so many other great places nearby.
