Have eaten at this restaurant several times with friends. Food was authentic and well prepared. Had a great wine selection also.

After traveling to Italy a few years ago I returned with a love of authentic Italian food. After searching around I discovered this gem in my own hometown. Equal to anything in Little Italy but with better prices and the closest to dishes I ate in Italy. Slightly on the high end for Chula Vista but worth every penny. I... More

Our server was awesome. Lady knew her stuff. Older gentleman kept pacing back and forth, the length of the restaurant. Made both myself and my date nervous. Temp outside in high 80's no a/c on to make customers comfortable. Food was good, service was good. Atmosphere sucked. I will not return.

I am not kidding. This is the best Italian restaurant I have ever visited. We had cioppino, baked eggplant, and caprese salad. My husband had the house red wine. Everything was perfectly cooked and presented. There are subtle flavors that come through along with the expected tastes for the dishes we ordered. The broth for the cioppino was delicious, and... Came here for lunch, really enjoyed it. I had the soup of the day, a mushroom veggie variety, taste buds were loving it. Then Mushroom Ravioli, a great dish if you like heavy cream, Parmesian, I do. Be aware a little heavy for lunch. Overall I would recommend, only suggestion for restaurant, maybe a lunch menu. But again, to have... More

We love coming to Italianissimo Trattoria! It's close to more, the service and food is delicious. Plus they have a awesome chief with a fabulous singing voice who comes out from the kitchen to sing Happy Birthday! Definitely if you are in Chula Vista, check out Italianissimo Trattoria! It's a great place!

The menu speaks of authentic Italian cuisine and the food we had was reminiscent of a small ristorante near Rome a few years ago. We went for lunch and found that the only menu was for dinner time, thus no lunch portions or prices. It seemed a bit pricey for lunch, so we just had a pizza to share. The... More

We go to the beach in San Diego every year and make it a point to eat here. The food is excellent and made on site. We love the veggie pizza and had that one night. The crust is perfect and homemade. The veggies are fresh. The next night we came back and tried the eggplant parmigiana, mushroom ravioli and gnocchi.... More

We recently moved to the city and have been trying the local restaurants. In a city filled with the border influence, it was nice to see an Italian offering in the downtown-Third Avenue area. There are good choices on the menu, with relatively good prices, and then there are specials, with considerably higher prices (which the server didn't mention when... More
