Great experience

We were invited for business lunch to this place. At first we didn't have much expectations because the person that invited us had heard both good and bad reviews. First of all, the place looks quite elegant and the service was very friendly. Even the manager kept making rounds to our table to... read more

The location is ideal for south bay, bar, tables setting is just right. Food has always been very good. The outside Patio sitting perfect for a San Diego weather afternoon. The piano music in evenings complements the place. Greta service

Start by buying an extra package of Tums from a nearby store, then cancel other plans -you will be there a while. The food has its moments, but mostly the qualities are not worth the hours of indigestion that follow. Service is generally fair at best, don't expect your order to come quickly. That would be less of a problem... More

Attended a 90 year old birthday. Expected appetizers and cocktails and was surprised to have a sit down luncheon. The two salads served, arugula and chopped were delicious. The pizza choices were very tasty with a light crust. I especially liked the gelato for dessert. The service was excellent and the wine glasses were never empty. Jan, was as charming... More

The menu from appetizers to entrees is wonderful. They have a Happy Hour that no one should miss. The interior of the restaurant is tastefully decorated and the patio is well designed with comfortable seating. Great musical entertainment also. Locals are regulars and visitors are delighted to find this Italian jewel.

We live 130 miles away but come at least once a year for our anniversary. Since our anniversary was on a Tuesday, the restaurant wasn't very full so we sat at the bar. OMG! We had the best time!! The bartender (sorry, I don't know her name) was fabulous! So attentive, knowledgeable, helpful, and fun! The owner came over and... More

My husband and I live a few miles from Via Lago but had never been there. We had a gift card so went on a Wednesday evening. The hostess gave us both the regular menu and a Happy Hour menu because Happy Hour was still in effect. We had appetizers from the HH menu. I had shrimp cocktail (5 large... More

My wife and I tried this place for the first time the other night and we fell in love with it. The food was amazing and the service was top notch. It felt like everyone there had pride in what they were doing. The drink list is limited in the mixed drink selection to primarily martinis. They were not familiar... More

We love this restaurant! The atmosphere is serene - well designed. The food is delicious and elegant. Last year, we brought our cousin - an amazing and much admired home cook from Formia, Italy, and she absolutely loved it! She wanted to taste every dish and exchanged recipes with the owner, Joe Busalacci. He speaks Italian, of course.

I have been here many times for lunch and early dinners. I have made a point of ordering something different every time I go even if it isn't something I would normally order, just to expand my palate. I have loved everything. The flavors and freshness of the food is wonderful and I love every bite. We all love the... More
