The salad was more flavorful than I expected! There was spicy dried mango on the salad which surprised me pleasantly. Give it a try. The store attached to the cafe had quite a bit of local food items so I bought the Mayhaw Jelly to try when we get home as I'd never heard of that. Please visit the Classic... More

We stopped in for lunch en route home from a long road trip. We had seen Chiriaco Summit featured in a Visiting with Huell Howser episode on PBS and thought it would be fun to check the place out. The menu was pretty standard, and both my husband and I chose to have the hamburger chili size. It was served... More

Very simple coffe shop type place, but food seemed good enough. The gift shop is kinda cool. The menu at the restaurant was wanting for more, as was the servings, but it is what it is, out in the desert, where there is nothing else....all in all, not too bad, but not too special...unless you want to shop...then the gift... The cool thing about the Chiriaco Summit Cafe is that it's in the middle of nowhere. 50 miles west of Blythe, 50 miles east of Palm Springs. The Chiriaco family have carved out their own little oasis in the middle of the desert and their cafe is somewhat reminiscent of what it must have been like when the Joads were... More

Traveling from California to Phoenix, stopped for a meal because we missed our turnoff for food in Indio, and couldn't wait another 90 miles to eat in Blythe. Very average meals. We had the patty melt, hamburger, and club sandwich. The patty melt was only slightly better than if we had gone to the convenience store and microwaved a sandwich.... More

Stopped by the Coffee Shop off I-10. Decided to have breakfast. Chicken fried steak and eggs (wife had a corn dog and date palm shake). Food was excellent; prices were reasonable and service more than satisfactory. If your traveling between Phoenix and LA, I recommend a rest stop at the Chiriaco Summit Coffee Shop. I'll be back!

We stopped at the Chiriaco Summit Cafe on the I-10 on Thanksgiving morning. We had excellent food and great service. We have only eaten here for breakfast and have never had a bad meal and the service is above average. Decent prices and good food. There is also a big convience store there and the George Patton Museum. If you... More

This is by far, the BEST place to stop for pie. The crust is a buttery, flaky taste of Heaven.. OMG - I cannot wait to travel west on I-10 again. If I am within 75 miles of Chiriaco Cafe, I will detour just so I can have a slice of pie.

First time we have stopped for 25 years. We were fascinated. The Patton museum is great. Driving up to the collection of tanks is an eye opener. Food operation efficiently run. Not the absolute highest quality and priced a little high but we were in the middle of the desert. The crowd being served didn't complain. Stop by when driving... More

Started in the 1930s, this I-10 oasis once hosted World War II hero US Gen'l George S Patton and his troops for desert tactics training. The Chiraco Summit café - recently remodeled - serves simple yet suitable and tasty meals in clean and dignified surroun- dings. A lengthy review is given because there is so little else reliable along this... More
