My friend and I went to Johnnies for brunch on Sunday. I had heard about it and was really looking forward to it. Overall, it was a terrible experience. First we were never greeter by the hostess or even acknowledged as we stood at the desk for 10 minutes. She finally picked up 2 menues and motioned for us to... More

I have been going into Johnnies since the very first day they opened their doors. I have eaten a many meals, from all four of their menus, plus dessert. It has always proved to be the BEST place at which to spend a date night. They are very accomodating, even to our young daughter, when we have asked for a... More

Have been to Johnnies several times, always delicious, welcoming and friendly. I love going into the lounge after dinner in the restaurant, fun and attentive service, beautiful atmosphere and live music.

This is my favorite place to eat in Chico. I don't know why there are any bad reviews. This place is soooo good! Try the ahi tuna appetizer, the best around! Their macaroni and cheese, salmon, and filet mignon are also excellent. Our favorite is the champagne brunch! The price is unbelievable and it includes unlimited champagne which really does... More

My husband surprised me by taking me to Johnnie's for Valentines day. We hooked up with another couple we know. We were taken downstairs into the cellar. The waiter took our food options about 45 minutes after being sat. Our water arrived about 10 minutes after that. We ordered a bottle of wine to go with dinner. It didn't arrive... More

We ordered lunch for our office, and thought we were in for a epicurian delight. We were extremely disappointed. The calamari was tasteless and rubbery. The chinese chicken salad was all lettuce and not much else, with "chicken strips" on top. The turkey avocado sandwich was dry and sloppily made. Our office will not be returning.

Recently moved back to chico after several years and some old friends took us out for a "welcome back" dinner. when they told us we were going to a restaurant inside a hotel i'll admit i was a bit leery, envisioning a ran down, boring ol' diner type place we've seen a million times over in holiday inn's and HoJo's... In a very few words the food was not good - everything and that is everything was overcooked to the point of being near bad. We were never ask how our meal was, for obvious reasons, however I did tell the server at the end of the meal - no apologies were offered. To be fair the coleslaw and the... More

My 20th anniversary was this weekend my husband surprised me by booking a room at Hotel Diamond, I was thrilled. We had dinner that night at Johnnies, it was incredible. We started with the Sashimi Tower (To Die For!!!) then I ordered the Elk and my husband the Halibut, both were cooked perfectly. We took a bottle of champagne and... More

It was great to be able to just go downstairs and have a nice meal. Our server was pleasant and helpful. The piano player was great and provided for an even more relaxing environment. The ahi appitizer which is a Johnnie's special was absolutely delicious. The portion was large and worth the money. I had a seafood enchilada special. The... More
