My wife and I enjoy this place. It has an upscale for Chico feel. The lounge and restaurant are quiet and comfortable. The menu is small, but the open kitchen it enjoyable to watch as the chefs prepare the meal. The service has always been good for us. It'd a quality place with good people and a sophisticated mature, geberally... More

attached to the Diamond hotel, this restaurant consistently delivers great chicken, steaks, and seafood with other peripheral dishes in abundant supply. Service can be a tad spotty, and larger meals in the downstairs rooms can arrive a tad unevenly and cool, but the beautiful setting, ability to carry on conversations, lively bar up front, and very friendly and educated service... I live in Chico and like Johnnie's for their bar. The restoration of the hotel housing Johnnie's was a labor of love by one of Chico's finest business man. it is worth the trip to tour the hotel, spend the night and have a great dinner and cocktails.

I've been to Johnnies a few times both for lunch and dinner. They have one of the best burgers in Chico, and their New Years Eve dinner was wonderful. I found their regular dinner menu to be very limiting and the food above average but not excellent. The servers were friendly and accommodating. The bar is upscale which is great... More

It's the place to go if you want a quiet dining experience. They have a wide variety of foods and have the best marshmello desert!

Beautifully restored hotel location with attention to detail for furnishings. Food quality fluctuates from good to great, and service is sometimes slow. Nice menu, beautiful surroundings, awesome banquet room, but I wish the menu was more dependable...

Have been going to Johnnie's since in opened in approximately 2005. The restaurant has been always consistently "inconsistent". Recently, in the past few months, Johnnie's has had a major turnover in staff, both at the serving level, cooking level and management level. Johnnie's recently changed its menu from items to numerous to count, to a more select few items. Colleagues... More

I really liked this place. The atmosphere was very nice and the service was great. We were here on Valentine's Day, so they had a special menu, but we liked everything that was offered so it worked out well. The portions were pretty small though, which is why it didn't get 5 stars. The hotel that the restaurant is located... More

I want this place to be good. I really do. It is housed in a beautiful old boutique hotel and has a great bar but the food doesn't match the atmosphere. The staff is great but whoever is cooking needs some assistance with basic breakfast. Eggs are over cooked, bacon and potatoes were greasy. Coffee cold. Come on....you have potential.... More

Love this place! We go almost every week to sit in the bar, have bar plates, and drinks. Great Happy Hour prices on food and drinks. Great atmosphere, and not noisy! Historic hotel above bar.
