I want this place to be good. I really do. It is housed in a beautiful old boutique hotel and has a great bar but the food doesn't match the atmosphere. The staff is great but whoever is cooking needs some assistance with basic breakfast. Eggs are over cooked, bacon and potatoes were greasy. Coffee cold. Come on....you have potential.... More

Love this place! We go almost every week to sit in the bar, have bar plates, and drinks. Great Happy Hour prices on food and drinks. Great atmosphere, and not noisy! Historic hotel above bar.

Johnnie's has a great lounge to grab a drink and a snack and listen to great music. It's quickly becoming one of our favorite happy hour places in Chico.

Really enjoyed my special cocktail and the food was very nice. The bartender had to manage the whole bar, get the food and make drinks as well the night we were there: a Sunday night. Food came out very slowly, about 30 minutes per order.

Three of us dined at Johnny's on New Year's Eve. Because we chose the wine pairing to accompany the prix fixe four-course dinner and had a cocktail before dinner, the evening was quite costly. However, it was just what we were looking for. Festive party hats and streamers in black and silver were ready for us on the table. Our... More

Holiday party with co workers, in a beautiful setting, old hotel. Food was great and service was excellent too. Would go again.

pre-holidays, we went in the restaurant for appetizers & wine - it could have been dinner, but the service was quite slow, even though the restaurant was only about 1/3 full. This place has a lot of potential, and should try and raise the bar.

Johnnie's has a fabulous Sunday Champagne Brunch, fun happy hour with great small plates, and a pleasant dinner dining experience - lunch is problematic because the dining room is not always open and there is limited table space in the bar.

Food and drink, Ok, but for what it is I think there is too much local hype and I am totally unimpressed with the service. They mean to have good service but , like all small towns, too involved with locals to have consistently good servers.

Went for appetizers and drinks, very busy place with one waitress( Sam ), but we were not ignored or left needing anything, she did a great job of working the whole room. The food was typical bar food (we had calamari and cheese plate) and the atmosphere was relaxed. We liked it so much we went back 2 days later on... More
