You can tell that the Chef here was trained by Alice Waters and others as well. The food is very good. I felt Cosseted and pampered by the food and the service. I feel a little bit stylish is a treat when I left. I think you will have the best Chico has to offer.

Evidently the evening we dined at Leon Bistro there was a serious problem in the kitchen. We waited about an hour for our meal to be served. The waitress apologized several times for the delay, and offered more bread. We did not care to fill up on bread as we anticipated our entree. Once the dinners arrived, we found them... More

We are very happy that we decided to try Leon Bistro last Friday night. The food was as good as any five star restaurant in Vegas or NYC. I had the rack of lamb; that was perfectly prepared and the flavors were exquisite. My wife had the lamb shank and it was also done to perfection with very subtle and... More

The menu, flavors and presentation (picture-worthy!) are extraordinary! It was difficult to decide what to order, and THEN the waitress described several specials! The bacon-wrapped shrimp (large shrimp wrapped in meaty bacon with a tasty sauce) and the mushroom crostini appetizers were delicious. We ordered lamb shanks and wild calamari steaks…both beyond delectable, and the portions are large. The lamb... More

Chef formally from Chez Panisse in Berkeley. Has brought a reason to brave the dangers of downtown Chico- the homeless shelter of Northern California. Food is outstanding and well prepared. I am a meat eater- but her vegetables are remarkable. I have eaten there numerous times, and the whole menu is outstanding. She holds marvelous cooking classes. Wait staff is... More

Very vine dining evening. The crostini with mushrooms, goat cheese, and very light balsamic glaze was a great starter. Wife's filet was excellent, although not quite as rare as she ordered it; daughter's rack of lamb was terrific; and my lamb shank in Mediterranean sauce was great. Varied wine list with good California wines, and a few Italian selections. Friendly... More

Amidst beautiful, quiet surroundings, my husband and I enjoyed a delicious feast. I had the Calamari and he a steak. Love the creative vegies surrounding my calamari and I prefer to eat Paleo style so she dipped the calamari in coconut and almond flour I believe. What ever it was on the outside, it wasn't wheat flour and it was... More

First thing to mention is, make a reservation. We waited 35 minutes for a table at their quaint bar. They only serve beer and wine. Our server was Lizzie and she was knowledgable about the specials for that eveing only. My husband was going to order the Surf and Turf "Hanger Steak and Halibut", but once he heard the Scallop... Comfortable, unpretentious atmosphere with great ambience. The wine list is heavy on reds but has a full selection of whites to please anyone. Our waiter was knowledgable about the selections and helped us narrow our choices with great results. The food was beautifully prepared . My artichoke crusted haddock with green Thai aioli was one of the best dishes I... More

After experiencing some of the best restaurants in the world, El Bulli ( Roses, Spain ) & Noma ( Copenhagen ), we have a top standard to compare other restaurants to...
