Best in Caycucos

Great find in a great town. We were looking for a place with a full bar as there are many that are wine and beer only. Very casual atmosphere and service. But good service. Packs within our large group went here several times and all commented the same. Good service but laidback, good tasting food... read more

This place has the best sunset view in the world. Sit in the bar and watch the sun set over the water. Crazy cool place and the food is pretty good also.

Initial meet and greet was slow but from then on we had no complaints. The view from the outside area upstairs was lovely. The food was great. We both had seafood. Well Cooke and large servings. The waiting staff were all friendly and helpful.

We enjoyed sitting outside, it was a lovely evening and they had overhead heating on the deck which kept us very comfortable. Our waiter Bart was very friendly and helpful. He made some suggestions and we were very happy with his input. My friend ordered the steak with blue cheese and vegetables which she felt was very delicious. I ordered... More

We dined here on a Wednesday night in March, and it was busy enough but not crowded. We were seated right away and a waitress came to the table in short order. Drinks didn't take too long to be served. Food portions were very generous. My salmon was excellent, veggies done perfectly, and garlic mashed potatoes not too garlicky; spouse... More

This was our first visit to Schooners. The view can't be beat, if you are going in the evening dress warm because although there are patio heaters it can be a little cool. The bloody mary cocktail was incredible, the best I've ever had at a restaurant/bar. We had calamari as an appetizer and it was cooked perfectly, not greasy... More

On a one night stop in Cayucos we had no idea where to eat so walked down the Main Street around 7pm on a Tuesday night in February and one of the few open restuarants was Schooners, so we went inside (outside on the deck was a bit chilly)! My husband ordered a hamburger which he said was good (... More

We've eaten here on two separate trips to Cayucos. Both times, there was a 45-60 minute wait for the upper deck but immediate seating in the downstairs dining room. We sat downstairs; it was quiet, attractively decorated and service was fast and efficient. The food (prime rib and orange glazed salmon) was excellent. And the warm chocolate cake? Heavenly! We'll... More
